Be sure to give the fine print on the discounts a once over. I have a discount for medication that takes it from $590/month to $10 but only covers up to $3500/year. So the difference in insurance price vs discount price goes toward your annual benefit. In my cast 590-10=580. So after the first month my annual benefit is down to 3500-580=$2920. About six months in I get stuck paying the full price.

Bro, I got 2-3 cartons of that exact milk in my fridge at any time. My kid goes through it like water.So my kid tested for advanced class again (They do it every two years I think) and he got 99th %ile for every category again. He’s in 1st grade, reading at a 6th grade level, getting close to 7th.
Hard to find books appropriate for him, age 7 reading books made for teens. He’s reading Percy Jackson now as his “main” book at night, and lots of lower aged stuff during the day. Pretty cool he can read Percy by himself and it keeps him entertained. I’ll probably try The Hobbit next, he read the lion the witch and the wardrobe but wasn’t as into it as Percy Jackson. I think he’s gotta have some action.

My parents would just take us to the local shop to buy a book once a week, anything we wanted other than porn basically. If your kid is reading that well you may find that just nudging the interest and letting them choose is enough. There is plenty of older science fiction and detective stuff or fantasy that would fit the bill perfectly. Yeah, this is my main advice to new parents. Read every single day even when they’re a couple months old. There are tons of studies on word exposure and it’s the #1 factor for if the kid is smart later in life. There are certain cultures that just don’t do it and it shows. My sister works in Early Development out west and the Hispanic community is really bad about it. They don’t even really talk to babies cause they think well they can’t understand or talk back so why do it.
Is it just me, or is the pacing of modern animation utterly frenetic compared to our childhoods? My kids were watching Maya and the Three on Netflix and I found the editing so battering that I had trouble following it sometimes. It's like they had just excised all the pauses between dialogue and action beats. I felt like I was developing ADHD trying to follow. When I have them watch classics I don't get the same feeling. Maybe I'm just officially old now, dunno.
