I'm not a fan of a bunch of changes on the fly when we've only got a portion of the skills. It causes some skills/supports to be over represented and that along can make something appear imbalanced.

But if you're going to be making some significant changes on the fly how about if the cost to respec was tiny?
There shouldn't even be a respec cost. Its an old an antiquated game design choice. Especially when you have so many different things you can do in the passive tree its beyond retarded. It just encourages people to follow build guides cause they completely bricked their character trying out something they thought would be fun and now they don't have any gold to go back so I guess they have to slog through the bullshit. Because you've doubled down on "choices matter" design choice on this aspect you've actually just funneled people into not choosing at all and being a little NPC build follower.

The fucking tax this game imposes on you for playing a shitty character is brutal. Fights take longer because my damage is bad which means I have to do more mechanics and while I'm doing mechanics I'm not doing damage and the longer the fight goes on the more likely I am to get one-shot by some attack that tracks hard enough that you have to dodge roll at the right time with the timings themselves being unique for each boss and I'm only doing any of this because I wanted to do totem stuff in the new PoE1 league that got pushed back to the end of February so why not try some totem stuff now and unfortunately Artillery Totem is bad and I'm bad.

Hardcasting Comet on frozen enemies is fine and does more damage that way. We all got to Act 3 to even get CoF and it didn't even work well on bosses, so can't see it being a huge problem.

Sounds like it's going to work nearly as well on big packs and work more often on single targets, it'll just be mid sized packs where you won't get enough charges.

Still not seeing anyone talk about weapon swaps. The right answer is probably speccing into either the shock or chill ascendancy and swapping between lightning and cold skills. This is what they showed us in the trailers.

Maybe spam lightning spells to shock and cast on shock your curses, then swap to ice skills to DPS and Crowd Control.

I think you should not build on "cast on X" overly OP builds and not expect it to be fixed/balanced.

SRS spawning Energy Shield to overcap ES was fixed today. I'm not even mad because it was obviously going to be fixed. The same as Loop builds etc. They have said multiple times they dont want it to be like PoE with 1 button nuking the screen.

Anyways, I'm suffering at work looking at the passive tree to respec a few things and just want to fucking go home now...

Game is pretty chill with a Deadeye, no wonder they're the most played char. with mouse + wasd it's smooth you can dodge most of the thing while damaging the boss. I did die on the fire skelly of act 2 cause I got lazy at the end and thought I could facetank it, but the last boss of act 2 was a walk in the park.

Careful they'll make it to where you have to run an event/trial to get the option to respec. One of the mini patches or something fixed my movement/sliding issues. I quit dying and shit is now 100 times easier but now I'm kinda meh to keep playing lol.

That was my first thought, except what do I respec to as sorc? Comet is the only thing that does damage worth a shit, and manually casting that shit isn't viable.

Cast on freeze was basically it. It's the reason fire and lightning builds aren't a thing for anyone.

I guess I could just respec into an entirely different class's skills, but what the fuck is the point of that?
I have not played a sorc at all, so I have no clue.

A major concern I have here is that as there are people ( streamers mostly ) that play in organized groups and have groupies sending them tons of mats and items to help craft along the way....they will find things that the devs didn't intend. As they post videos on it,l for revenue, GGG will nerf skills and interactions that effect everyone.

I'm a merc atm, and the only thing I have found is very effective for me is the grenade spam. If someone somehow finds a way to say that the explosive grenade is broken, well there goes my entire build and gear around it...effectively bricking my toon.

GGG is going to need playtesters, but if they constantly brick builds without offering a way for us to quickly change our playstyle without basically having to roll fresh toons, then they will find themselves losing players through the early access, because while I really enjoy the game, every system is in place to punish a player to try out different builds and combos.

I mean it's quite clear they've said over and over again that they want combat to be meaningful and they've nerfed anything that automates or trivializes it. If you're building a fotm character that uses triggers especially and not expecting a nerf you're kinda dumb. If you want to be safe from nerfs play a warrior.

Also, they just got done buffing loot and currency drops. Bunch of "what have you done for me lately" faggots up in here.

I shelved my ice bitch a couple days ago because I couldnt find a +cold spell item to save my damn life and was just not having fun with it. Cucked out and did minions but holy shit the difference a little twink gear early on and having + minion on a scepter and my head slot makes is night and day. Just playing a couple hours here and there I've got my first acendancy and working my way through Act2 no problem. For my skill its a good starter toon to build up some currency and gear so when I go try something else I at least wont have to struggle for those two things.

Give feedback while its OPEN BETA. Shit on the game when its 1.0 and you are unhappy.
Paid beta*

At level 22 atm, difficulty seems to mostly come from lack of gear. Shit dies super fast when you're not using stuff you got at level 3 in the 2nd zone. Found a pair of 15% movespeed boots on vendor not long ago and moving around actually feels like not ass now, gonna be absolutely horrific ever switching to something without movespeed in the future so hopefully movespeed isn't a rare mod on decent boots.
