So I just started fighting the first Trial boss and the game froze and crash. I was apoplectic (my kid can attest).

However, I logged back in at the entrance room of the Trial, and was able to restart the boss fight. The only issue was the Honor I lost while my game was frozen but the fight was still going on.

I called out to my son - False alarm, disregard rage!

While true, the faceroll play after struggling through the early game with a Sorc and Warrior is definitely an improvement.

You cannot evade spells by default. You need to take the acrobatics Keystone for that
Thats not true. Mobs in poe 2 don't have a distinction between spells or attacks. Which is also why there's no such thing as spell block.
I know Armor is to block Physical damage only, but what is Evasion's weakness? Is there a damage type it won't evade?

The weakness of evade/block is AOE damage. Think like Comet or Fist of god which is what acrobatics keystone adresses.

You cannot evade spells in PoE2 by default. You need Acrobatics.

EDIT: GGG is bad about these things, so basically, the "depends on the ATTACKER's Accuracy" line is what denotes that you cannot evade spells by default.

just fyi, the wiki does also say, player spells, do ignore evasion against enemies.

Monster evasion is melee and projectile attacks. not aoe, and not spells.

Melee will remain unplayble under this game design of souls-lite combat until accuracy/hit chance as a stat is removed.

Said it in game a bit ago, but my Deadeye build is mostly online now in Act 3 (level 44) and I honestly have no clue why they destroyed the Cast on Freeze sorc builds. There must just be something about that interaction they didn't like?

But this shit is way easier to play than that was. It's not instant kill (not yet anyway, although that didn't come online for me until sometime in Act 4 or 5 anyway), but it's significantly smoother going through Act 3 so far. I only now just starting using the Orb part, but even without it, I was killing bosses pretty easily. And rares much easier. Add onto it that my evasion means I'm not dying as often and the whole thing is just...baffling.

I am in ACT 3 and my minions are just destroying everything. The main bosses take a little time but that is pretty much it so far. Kind of glad they nerfed the Sorc now. It is a lot easier spamming "Flamewall" with the occasional flameability and tower buff.

It was absolutely a play style nerf rather than a raw power nerf. They've gone on at great length during interviews etc about how they want/expect the combat in poe2 to be a 'combo' system of synergistic abilities, and the cast on crit/freeze/whatever setups were just poe1 single button trigger screen clear spam builds. Their boss damage wasn't even spectacular, but the fact they didn't need to do anything but spam their one spark or frost wall or whetever it was to trigger all their damage was the problem.

That sounds boring, but I guess if you feel like Pindleskinning its an option!

Anyways, I managed to beat Sanctum Floor 4 and the boss. Had 7500 Honour and 80% Resist. Took maybe 300 dmg up to floor 4 and on floor 4 I finished with 715 Honour left...

The boss was no joke either, mainly mechanics fight with the added stress of losing Honour.

Went in on a level 79 one, absolutely killing it until I hit some bug with the 50% more mob health and the -30% mob health boon. It appears to multiple boss health by AT LEAST 2.

So I at one point had like 8300 honor/max resist. After fighting 7mil hp scorpion lady I was down to about 3.5k on the 4th floor. At the end before boss I was at 704 honor. I had one shrine to regain honor left BUT I had the boon to get a random boon when I hit a shrine. So not only did the shrine with all bonuses get me up to 2600ish, but it didn't matter, it gave me invulnerability.

I can tell you this, the fight isn't that hard and because I could take DAMAGE but not lose honor I could test his damage. I think with buffs and everything I had 3300 hp and the most his big hits did to me was maybe like 700 damage, maybe. Talking 1-2 times the entire time when I got frozen in some uh-oh shit and it did 1/4 my hp. The little balls do somewhere between 10-50 damage each, MAYBE and less honour than that I assume.

Because of whatever hp bug is happening, my Temporal dude had, I shit you not, somewhere between 12 and 15 million hp. My build does like 75k dps probably and builds stuns quite fast. I never stunned him. Not once. The amount it would take to stun a normal map boss did maybe 1/10th of his bar. It was absurd. I had constant uptime because I'm minions and the running tally had him at like 4 million before his first clock phase at ~65% hp. Hp scaling bug aside, he's got some hidden Damage Reduction bullshit and omega ailment threshold. Basically I don't think a CoC/CoF/CoS would be able to do shit to him.

The 4th floor boss should absolutely be a no-honour-lost type of deal. They need to make ramp his damage a little, but going through the absolute shit hole that is floor 4 should be trial enough. Just have your excess honour if you beat him convert to water/keys directly. The boss himself makes a lot of sense and even gives a break (maybe permanently) before his clock phase where you can just chill and gather yourself and if you have recharging flasks lettem run. He, like some other bosses, you CANNOT PAUSE and I think that's mainly because his clock phase you've just got to plot a non-retarded path and if you paused it, it'd be beyond trivial.

Sanctum loot is nuts, but they definitely need to dial some shit back if it's the defacto 4th ascendancy. The proj monsters in it can be absolutely retarded and I'm not 100% sure, but FOR SOME REASON YOUR ATLAS PASSIVES ARE APPLYING TO IT.

-3 Chalice Room. 4 Rares. Why? Rare duplicate from tree
-Guildmate went into a boss room. It had mana siphoner. On a Sanctum Boss. Because of 1-2 rare modifier atlas passive.

On the plus side I got a lot of waystones, but that shit is definitely bugged.

I got floor 1-3 pretty much on farm if I want to. The loot there is quite good for sure, but been mapping instead.

Floor 4 is fucking AIDS. I'm still not sure how I managed it, I think I lucked out on boons and had very few bad afflictions. The main thing with floor 4 it's all tight ramps and shit, not suited when you get body blocked and AoE'd from afar. I can't see how these are possible as melee?

And the boss would probably feel a lot easier the second time now that I know the mechanics.

Doing T11 quests now and might return for some 3 floor Sanctums later for some loots.

So I'm level 83 now and doing T11 and suddenly Iost 10 more of all resists? I thought the penalties stopped at 70 or something?

Edit: So it seems you lose another 10 resist at T11 (Red Maps?). Which sucks because I was exactly capped at 75 with all elementals!
