Ill keep that in mind if they give me trouble. I got raped in the first room of my first try, but second time I blasted through the whole trial and killed ribcage or whoever without losing more than 100 honor or so, so I didn't put much more though into honor other than getting hit real bad and focusing on running around like a bitch instead of just face slamming stuff.

I'm not sure it's really necessary but when you first gain access to the trial of sekhemas you can try over and over and over again without needing to collect another macguffin. You just click on the macguffin holder and it resets the door. You can go all the way to the end, kill the boss, get three relics and then fail to get your ascendancy so you can run through again and kill the boss again and get three more relics. I only did this a couple of times so I don't have a bunch of data.

So after I spent Exalts earlier to fix my resist now they are a bit over capped after patch. :O

Edit: Also tested running with Snipers yesterday and they worked just fine. Kinda nice to have a poison shot as well.

You want them overcapped about that much actually to mitigate both maps mods and mobs that lower your resists.

Default max honor res is 75%, there are relics which raise max (90% is the hard limit)

I'm guessing the people complaining about honor never played PoE1 and did Sanctum there. It's basically the same mechanic it was just called Resolve there (and there was a secondary bar called Inspiration).

The mechanic is for very specific builds and GGG not only porting it to PoE2 as part of the initial EA but also turning it into ascendancy trials is one of the most troll things I've ever seen a game company do.
I highlighted the important bits; how would you ever learn that in POE2? Ugh.

So poison shot, then either flame wall the mobs in them for ignite, or if you're infernalist your dog will insta it when it ignites enemies, or use an infernal minion to run up and detonate them. They're pretty decent, but honestly I got a 6 link with them with scattershot and pin support and they lock most stuff down off screen so I can live.

People reporting the "critical damage bonus" nerf to mobs applied to minions. I checked my minions. Opposite effect. My minions gained 100% more critical damage bonus since the patch. Not sure they're actually critting harder, but I went from 113% to 225% with no gear/passive changes. Adding it up I get something like 117%, so I'm even more confused.

There's been a few videos of Reavers minion builds. I wouldn't recommend it. Your defenses are "hope they don't get to you" and they have 0 range. They run like 1-2 snipers for armor break poison, but no actual clearing ability. Hopefully some one figures out frost mages or GGG tunes up AI to be more aggresive/smarter, or it looks like fire style minions (arsonist vs gas cloud ignite) are going to be the tops for now.

What do you use on the Snipers as far as support gems?

I did put Meatshield on warriors and setting them on fire, the cleric keeps them alive so they dont insta die.

I see the poison cloud explode now when I aim it at the rare and the dog and ignites start going. Not sure if they are better or worse than Arsonists but Kina fun to use as a break from the Arsonists gameplay.

Feeding Frenzy, Martial Tempo, Minion Mastery, Scattershot, Pin.

Feeding Frenzy could be fire/physical/chaos mastery for more damage on the ability, but I like their passive damage. Pin is truly like a 6th link quality of life thing. In a perfect world I'd be all phys and I could just use pierce instead of scattershot, but scattershot allows the poison cloud to fire 3 at a time. Not sure if it shotguns the explosion, but it definitely increases coverage nicely.

And on the SRS? Whats the load out on them?

Currently using Feeding Frenzy on SRS myself.

Dont sleep on using a Heft support gem for some minions. Gave my arsonists a nice DPS boost.

Yea I use Heft on Arsonists. I need to find a damn Perfect Jewelers Orb though.

Did a few Maps on lunch break. The Forge Boss took ages to down and then I noticed he had like 47% elemental resist. You guys keep a Fire Penetration in bags for these Maps? Or just power through it?

I typically enjoy GGG's mentality and design philosophy (again, typically). Im happy for them to have EM basically giving them free advertising. As popular as he is, POE2 is probably reaching a crowd its never reached before. Especially the casuals that have been playing D4 for a couple hours a week, etc. Although, I'm torn whether a true casual should play this game.

I think I've come to the conclusion that the passive tree is a pile of shit. Because stats don't impact damage and there's basically no resists or health in it, the only thing that matters are a few clusters of relevant nodes. Because they are spaced out just enough to limit the number you can achieve, but also far enough to prevent you from wandering to acquire peculiar combinations of them, it's basically pointless.

If you are a ranger and want to go lightning there are basically two directions you can do and you grab mostly everything lightning and elemental in that direction. Because most of the nodes are boring (+dam, +pen, affliction bonus, etc.), once you figure out which of this gives more benefit that really means you've only got one direction. You certainly can't get both because they're just far away. So it's really just a decision of which filler clusters you take, after you get what defensives you can.

I think they'd need to basically double the density of the clusters of useful nodes to actually make choice relevant.
IDK if its total bs yet. but its absolutely a step backwards from the elegances of poe1's. they removed all the life nodes from the tree. freeing up passive points!.. then proceeded to add 20% more travel nodes forcing you to spend those points that would have been in life or defenses on TRAVEL nodes.
The shift also does screw with life/es/defenses. again, before it actually was a choice. you wanted life, and needed it? you had to pick life nodes. could stack them. or some areas of the tree were starved and forced you to make choices. now, its baked into flat life at level up. flat life, not %life. and because tis flat, it means life on gear is more important, but also doesnt scale with passives.

Energy shield, CI, etc. well too bad. you can't choose to ignore life. its baked in. and you DONT get the extra passives back.

Stack honor resistance. I've done it on all characters and didn't dip below 10% of my starting honor at any time on any character, two of which were melee. Think I had around 100% resistance w/ my relics.
I mean, somehow people have no hit it. I have no idea how.

I can't see shit in half of these. off screen pokes, behind wall pokes. barely visible projectiles I can't see through all the frostwalls, explosions, and bombs.. we are too close to the screen. 99% of the time Im fighting bosses off screen.

+48% honor resist. +11% max honor, +35% honor restored.

I finally found a character I liked and beat Act 1. Mercenary shotgun with little usage of grenades is really fun after you get used to switching ammo types.

I enjoyed PoE1 when it first launched but hated it after a short while away because they just added way too much bloat to the game in my opinion. If you weren't in a season where they introduced something you had no clue what was going on.

Obviously it's early access so the class balance is way out. They do themselves a disservice in the early clearing speed. For me, level 14 or 15 or whatever opens up the third tier really ramped up the killing speed on multiple classes and immediately made the game more fun.

I really like the changes they made to skills not being tied to your gear. It makes the game a lot more accessible.

I have 4 deaths now at level 17 or whatever I am and all of them are from one shot mechanics. I find it interesting that they have 1 shot mechanics in the east level. I would think they would save that for cruel . Seems like a bad decision. When trying other classes I had a lot more deaths so the learning and history on fights definitely helps. It does suck when every boss has a phase 3 where, for some classes, you are two minutes into a fight and you get one shot and have to start from scratch.

Repopulating the area with mobs when you die is so dumb. You are already punished and this is going to end up causing casual players to rage quit early on in the game and lose them players. What an odd decision.

As a full on Blizzard apologist, this game is already far superior to D4 for me. This was 30 bucks well spent. Hopefully, by the time my slow ass gets to maps, all the shit everyone has been complaining about will be fixed.
