Think I found a build. What are invokers normally doing? I've not seen anyone talking about this interaction...

So, if you saw my "blink+cast on dodge" post, saying how it was lying about what it did, and was busted. I was doing it on a chronomancer.
I didn't know about Invokers "35% more energy gain"

level 20 gems 4.9mx20x (1+.57energy gem+55passives+.40impetus)x(1x.35invoker) 333.4 is what I get for level 20 gems.
An Invoker with level 20 gems can get 333.4 energy every dodge. Comet is 300.

(also get free spirit on Body armor without having to roll it.)


Also, you can cast multiple spells. like say frost bomb+frost bolt. .8scast+.8s cast. 160energy. although.. its super buggy and only some spells actually dual/triple cast.

What's the build exactly? Relying on monsters to swing at you has almost never worked out.

PoE1 had to work around this by introducing a mark that spawn phantasms that shoot spell projectiles at you. Just so Cast when Stunned could function in single target.

Is there also a movement speed penalty similar to resistance? I take off my +25% boots and have -4% move speed.

Is the trade site down?
so now i have to do this retarded dance to use the trade site. i open 2 tabs. use one to search. eventually it gives red errors when i try to search, when that happens, i use the other tab to hit refresh, which does the stupid bot verification shit, then my origional tab works again.

Body armor and shields in PoE1 give -3% movement speed. Nothing on the item actually says this. See if something similar is going on here.

Yep, if I unequip my body armor I'm back at 25% move speed. Like you say, nothing here would indicate it is penalizing me:

no, its not "cast on evade". its "cast on dodge roll".
dodge roll has no CD, but is about .5m.

Cast on Dodge skill gem SAYS, 2 energy per meter travelled while dodge rolling. but its actually 20. so, you could do this with just dodge roll, and no CD. roll, roll, roll. and note, this is the base. the gem itself increases that value by 39-57% level 14-20. there are then also passives that increase this, a support gem, and as noted invoker has a more multiplier for it.
spells linked into cast on dodge give a "max energy" if .1 per 1s of cast time. so, a .8 frost wall, gives a max energy of 80. when you generate 80 energy via dodge rolling, it will cast frost wall.

Blink however converts dodge roll into a teleport.
it has a 4.5s CD. which yeah, is the main issue.
Chronomancer I was playing with this, with our 33% chance to not consume CD, CD reset and 12% cdr in ascendancy. (But we can't hit 300 energy for comet every blink)
"Ingenuity" support is 30% cdr. +10% in passive tree. 3.2s blink CD.

blink is 4.6-5m depending on gem level.

"cast on x" triggers also ignore cast time for actual casting. hence why cast on x+comet was so busted. self casting comet locks you into the cast animation for 2 seconds.
you can blink around the map every 3.2s autocasting comet. (or whatever else you want actually)

I want a support gem called "Soul Glo" that has the effect of "Leaves Trail of Oil." That way I don't have to worry about constantly casting it and I can have the confidence my character is looking on point while killing demons.

Dodge roll as anything but dodging is going to feel bad. No longer are you relying on it to get out of harm's way, you are using it as your (main?) clear skill, which will highlight the clunkiness of the end of the animation.

I don't know if you'll ever get Blink's cooldown down to a point that is acceptable. For reference, when Corrupting Cry debuted in PoE1, you could get it down to just a bit under 1s cooldown and 80m shout radius. And it was still easy to feel like you were hamstrung by the skill's cooldown while clearing. I generally like to get my clear skills to 3 uses per second.

The problem with this, especially if you are playing Invoker, is you can use Cast on Shock/Cast on Freeze/Cast on Ignite and proc WAY more often while mapping AND bossing than this. And the more dense an area gets (like at true endgame) the better those "typical" meta skills perform.

Yea I use Heft on Arsonists. I need to find a damn Perfect Jewelers Orb though.

Did a few Maps on lunch break. The Forge Boss took ages to down and then I noticed he had like 47% elemental resist. You guys keep a Fire Penetration in bags for these Maps? Or just power through it?
I just got to maps and am far from optimizing things but have been dropping solar orbs with fire pen on bosses. That being said I need to add a second offering and want to try a couple snipers so that means I need to drop 2 of the following three skills: solar orb, Unearth, Contagion. Dropping Solar Orb first but I like both of the other two, Contagion for applying Wither and Unearth for a bunch explodey guys using Infernal Legion.

I know I have been shitting on melee a ton and there are a lot of people complaining about different aspects of this game; but I think for an EA and the amount of content that is in that they are doing just fine. I complain because I want my problems fixed, but I am having fun and want it fixed so that I have more fun.

POE2 is a better game experience than 99% of the other games that game out this year.

for the record in case it saves someone the time/effort.

2nd boss of sekama trials, the statues. kill them at the same time. if you don't the last one will regenerate then, do annoying attacks.

Anyone actually seen one of these new belts with more than 1 charm slot?

And speaking of, what the fuck are good mods on charms? They all seem almost identically useless.

Solar orb linked to fire pen sounds less effective than using Ball Lightning to shock bosses.

I've dropped Unearth completely. Much like Detonate Dead, when I watch closely it becomes obvious that the explosions from legion/unstable rarely hit anything. They're sort of alright for Ritual and Breach, that's about it. Totally useless on bosses. I would stay away from the Legion/Unstable combo unless you have skeletal warriors from your scepter.

Why contagion? What are you using that makes Wither a significant dps increase?

Personally, I've switched from 10 nerfed arsonists back to 13 snipers. Links are Feeding Frenzy, Scattershot, Heft, and Bidding. Still don't have a 6L, but if I did I'd probably take Martial Tempo back from SRS. I was expecting Fork to be really good, but died in the first map (in a Ritual) I tried after plugging it in. First death at all since I started mapping actually. Maybe it was a fluke, but I don't see much point in trying it again until I get a perfect orb.

Not yet.

Stuff like more charges gained, less charges used, charges gained over time/on kill, etc. With only one slot I stick with a golden charm, and none of the others do enough to make me think about searching for a new +1/+2 slot belt.

Yes and it is a huge step backwards from PoE1 in many, many regards. Which is baffling because they have been steadily innovating and improving on the experience in that game for so long and yet they decided to be regressive with so many of the things they've ported into PoE2. They also have not added anything "new" to the genre, they copied and hybridized a bunch of things that quite frankly just don't belong in ARPGs (like dodge roll and collision "pushing")

The fact that its called PoE2 is the biggest hurdle for them, expectations are high because of the bar they've set for themselves. I believe the game will be much less frustrating and much better to play by full release. But I'm glad that so many people are complaining about the obvious regressive features because GGG is usually very good about not just being arrogant pricks and digging in on most issues (sometimes they do but its rare).

This new Atlas system is straight up just a worse version of the PoE1 Atlas system in every single way. From how you unlock points to how random it all is to how much less control you as a player have over what content you want to farm to how absolutely awful the map layouts are to the 1 try nonsense. The Atlas in PoE1 is the single most innovative thing ever added to ARPGs ever. And over the years they have dialed it in to a point where you can quite literally choose your own adventure and even save multiple setup loadouts. This RNG on RNG on RNG version of the Atlas they instituted in PoE2 is throwing away all the lessons and work they put in to making the Atlas so good in PoE1. It's baffling.

The game is still very good, because GGG is good at creating compelling systems, but it still begs the question "Why did they implement this" in so many areas.

same with max life? does that magnify with max honor?
"take x damage" afflictions are mitigated by armor, and honor resist.

ilvl 55 can get you +17-20% max honor relics. and +14-16% honor resist. so he recommends farming ilvl 55+ 2 floor tokens.
.... or just buying them on the trade.

I have a totally stupid and basic noob-question...

My current setup is W-A-S-D movement and runs three spells on my mouse, left click, right click, middle roller button. The problem is when I try to pick items up off the ground with left mouse click, my guy spams his spells rather than picks up the item. I run all the way over on top of the item, I hold down 'Alt' to reveal the item names, and I click directly on the item name panel and it only picks of the item of 20% of the time. I spam click for like 5 seconds and FINALLY it will pick the item up. It is rather infuriating.

What the fuck? When I had my Wand as my left mouse click, this was never an issue. There has to be a setting somewhere to make this better. What am I missing? Is there a setting to auto-pick up items like you do Gold? I know they have item item filter, but I don't know how that works.
