I still play, but a little less now.

My biggest gripe is the loot. I have multiple characters in their 30s and in all cases they still have a lot of their gear thats in their teens.
I did my first full run after i switched to witch after sorc got to act 2. Had no gear to give to witch, had perhaps 4 ex saved up. Did a full run, talked to everyone, explored every zone. By the time i reached maps I was level 66 or 67. I didn’t trade. Only things I «tried» to craft were a scepter and a chest which had spirit above 35 and 30. Figured I would wait for gambling until maps and from around level 25 I tried to remember to check vendors every level. Picked up every yellow. Found perhaps 4 uniques (all useless for me).

When I hit maps my average gear was probably less than 30. One ring was 14 one was 20ish. I got boots with 15% run speed in act 2? Never found better I could use. From half of act 2 until act 4 I didn’t get any hint of upgrades. Remember that becaus first named in act 4 got me a new helmet (that I still used until camapign ended).

Exploring everything feels very unrewarding and something I think many streamers gloss over since they rush. But spending 10+ hours methodically clearing zones «looking for stuff/exploring» which many new players/casuals do, not getting a single upgrade is not a good design mechanic. One thing when you’re high level and have good gear, that upgrades can be rare. But in the initial leveling progress? I don’t think that is good at all.

I only have three complaints with this game, and one of them is the MTX, which isn't gonna change. (Pepperidge Farm remembers when you had to actually achieve shit to look cool.)

The skills need a little more fleshing out, especially the supports. I like the restriction of not re-using the same support, but they need to counter that by offering more supports. They should go full-on with the combo system, like GW2 but better. I assume the skills will improve once they add the other classes.

Last complaint is not being able to replace sockets. Obviously understand not being able to extract them, but what the fuck is the point of having sockets if you can't swap them when you need different resists?

I don't think this is a bug. Can't remember where I read/heard this but there are no conversion chains in PoE2. Conversions can only happen once and only the final (converted to) stat matters. I.E. If you convert fire damage to cold any increased fire damage from gear/passives no longer works, it does nothing. Same for ES/Mana/Life conversions. (Or at least thats the way I understood it, not sure if actually true)

So Eldritch Battery converts the ES you have from Gear to Mana, and Ghostwrithe Converted Life into ES but that ES cannot be converted further, so you still get the ES.

It's not like you get free ES with that interaction, you are cutting your life by as much ES as you gain, its just that Grim Feast exists so... heh.
Yes. I played with EB and Ghostwrithe and that's pretty much how it worked.

heh at least you can just run maps out of your own hideout so once you hit a certain point you don't have to walk into the villiage of naked mud hut NPC"s surrounded by 35 levitating, flaming footprint leaving, burning angel wing men with glowing swords.

You run a couple of the things on even a couple of characters and you have more fucking relics than you can shake a stick at… the higher ilvl ones have some interesting effects on them. I guess they were hoping people would run this shit more than once but honestly after you finish the ascension bullshit I doubt anyone would do that as repeatable content very often because both formats are unenjoyable with very little reward because its an RNG fuckfest.

Anyways I’ll toss a few extra relics in the guild bank on the same tab we got the trials tokens are in.
My initial thought when I first did them was that they would eventually let me target farm "something." Whether that was a specific slot, or even a specific stat. But no - I have absolutely no idea why you would even waste your time with the current iteration if you've already got your ascended points. A no hit sacred run for Temporalis is target farming that specific unique - but good fucking luck doing that.
Its quite fast the second time around. And Monks with a few teink items crush it all.

But I think the main problem with campaign right now is the cruel part. Would feel nicer to run 6 different acts instead of repeating.
Eh, I think we'll get the other 3 chapters come February. Those 3 cruel acts probably have a total dev time of about 30 minutes.

Yea cast on dodge has been busted a while. I’m sure ggg will completely disable the skill when they’re back. They’re not happy until they’ve functionally removed all the meta skills they spent time and effort creating for apparently no purpose

A lot of folks saying oh Its an early access I’ll come back, give them some time etc. but what you should be concerned about are some extremely obvious Ls they made esp with regards to things that are obviously already fixed in poe1. That tells me they have deep flaws in their dev process, I’m not sure how easily they can swing that around. Maybe need to pull some of the good folks from poe1 over to do some common sense tweaks. (Like removing the ‘well’ , what even was the fucking point of that? Tedium so dumb that it raises broader concerns about what’s going on over there)

I feel insanely OP currently with lightning monk build using charged staff and tempest bell. Tempest Bell practically stun locks the final bosses in the Acts. Feel like this is gonna get nerfed.

Well there's like 3 people who can realistically pull this off so its on brand where as Ice Comet could be done in rares. That Temporalis roll is actually 250 div. Really the reason this exists is because noone had this shit with this setup prior to GGG going on break, it will be the first to go in the first patch in the new year. The spark build will probably be binned with it but really I have just no idea what direction they want players to go in the end game. so maybe its safe IDK.

It will still get nerfed, they will prob just gut Temporalis and add a different item to the no hit Trial.

I feel like every meta build for each class is going to get adjusted during this beta period.

My causal perspective is that so many of builds for each class revolve around many of the same skills, so there doesn't seem to be as much variety as I initially thought there might be.

I don't play bleeding edge content in arpgs, so my opinion could be completely wrong though.

Which is really the source of everyone's annoyance with the game right now. No one fucking knows whats going on with it. Why they do some nerfs and why they dont nerf others. Even with shit scaled down in intricacy from POE1 to POE2 - the game is still massively complex when it comes to putting it all together. Are we just going to see nerf, after nerf, after nerf because the dev's didnt foresee some of the most obvious shit on the face of the planet happening? I didnt even know half this shit existed until I started watching a lot of these "busted builds" on youtube to see what all is out there.

I'm definitely going to start next season with a class thats busted on the top end, even if it levels slower.

This is a bad direction for super chase items to take. PoE1 Original Sin doesn't radically alter the underlying design philosophies of the game like Temporalis does for PoE2. Zippy blinky mega damage in the game we designed to be slower with more gotta do the mechanics boss encounters. You want to be a zoomy boy? One truckload of divines please.

Thats the thing though, a lot of this shit is not balanced or just not thought out well. I like what that one dude above in his review said. Were all playing POE2 but the mobs are still playing POE1. Were crawling around with 50% move speed of POE1 while the mobs are all flying around rushing us at 150% speed and some of the stupid yellows are just RNG unkillable sometimes.

Given that the developers could get a handful of turbo twats to sit around all day testing the limit of everything they put in this game they are complete fucking dufus American Inventor faggots for not checking this shit ahead of time.

The real problem is 90% of the playerbase ends up stuck playing checkers while Timmy McNignog is playing 4D quantum chess with earning Elon musk levels of wealth. They could of had a ceiling on where they wanted DPS to land but apparently the Ching Changs wanted their return on investment now.

I mean, thats been POE in a nutshell for years. Except the disparity between the top players and the plebs was never this big. Or maybe it was but the bottom never felt this bad and always could get some shit going. THe problem has always been the "knowledge" of the game, or should I say the wisdom. The faggots that live in this game every league just know more and will always have the ups on the plebs. And then, yeah, add to this the fucking rangs and the $5 a day they are making on RMT youre gonna have a fucked up market. Then on top of all this you have the streamers and their dumb followers that HAVE to play the same builds, which leads to masses of items being twitch inflated too like the whole mathilification of the market. Its a whole big mess, lol.
