It's hilarious how you can from brokey to billionaire in this game so quickly. Rolled a perfect pair of boots and sold for 50 divine within a couple hours. The divine to exalt inflation over the last week has been insane as well.

At this point, they need to just sunset PoE 1. It's clear they don't really have the resources to develop both and it's also quite clear that PoE 1 is basically a dead game. It'd be far more beneficial to just pour those efforts into development on PoE 2, especially the end game.

Tried to level my Spark Sorc but god damn it sucks in campaign, could hardly get past act 3 poison boss chick. zDPS with twink gear.

At this point they should shudder PoE2 if they were to pick one. Ben was streaming PoE over the weekend, its amazing how much better it looks playing compared to this. Plus all the crafting and shit to do and a trillion skills that can all be used. This game has years to go before its nearly as compelling as its predecessor and it would be a mistake to kill off the original.

There's sunk cost fallacy in either direction but PoE1 is in a far better state than PoE2. PoE2 needs to prove it has a longterm playerbase and not just a bunch of "fair-weather fans".

That boss gave me a hard time on the spark stormweaver as well. I've switched back to my monk though, as my sparkweaver was pretty awesome but if literally ANYTHING hits her, she dies. Have to review that build and get some more survivability in it.

The two games cater to different people for sure, and they should keep both going.

I enjoy PoE2 way more than PoE1 but thats because I'm such a fucking noob in PoE1 and don't understand many mechanics.

I'm kind of an animation Andy and games with stupid animations kills it for me. PoE1 is on the bad side of that but the game is good enough for me to enjoy it anyway.

Last Epoch have some wierd floaty animations going on that made me not enjoy it as much.

Let me know how well it goes watching these guys try and develop two "different" ARPGs side-by-side.

It's clear they don't really give a shit about PoE 1 anymore or won't until PoE 2 reaches some sort of "equilibrium". So, it begs the question as to why you'd bother with both.

PoE 2 feels "shitty" in comparison to a game with 10+ years of live development. Why you'd want to stent its growth, I have no idea. You can leave the PoE 1 servers running, obviously. But development of new content seems like a waste/impossible task for GGG at this point.

Can't honestly answer your speculation without knowing how much GGG has hired for PoE2 development. PoE1 is known to be (highly?)profitable.

I don't think there's any reasonable way to make an auction house performant with this number of totally unique, randomly named items.

The tabs solution they have is likely very close to optimum. They just need an automated price-checking tool, and to eliminate the manual trading. You should be able to buy straight from the website.

PoE1 could still be a good platform to try out new League Mechanics before adding them to PoE2.

They said they have tons of assets to use in both games for new stuff.

I agree, and I've brought this up before. I just want one more "any thing goes" league and they can run that as an automated self reset league every 3 months so I can wait until poe2 is done.

It's really not hard. You take the tab thing, hook it up to a search interface in game. When somebody buys the shit you've listed it locks inside your tab until they pick it up (to keep HO interactions). The last part can be iterated on but it's basically all there already.

What? Are you suggesting anyone would want to filter a rare by its name AND also suggesting the search functionality on the website cant be ported into an AH in game?

Are you saying the D3 RMAH was totes different because PoE has... like.. some more uniques or something?

The D3 RMAH was very notably not a success story for anyone involved. It required a ton of infrastructure to support and was hated.

I've improved but there have been a quite a few PoE1 leagues where I was a hobo up until finding a winning lottery ticket on the ground that gave me the currency to fix my shit and make a real push. Recognizing what's within reach and making incremental gains is a skill I sorely lack.

That's the real fun part of the game. Do you know PoB well enough that you can take a fun-looking build and bust it down to budget level so that it comes online sooner whilst avoiding the homos on trade?
