A lot of these are tied to classes that aren't in the game so hard to say if they actually got cut. Traps are likely the Huntress thing along with spear combat, mines are Shadow(saboteur) and Brands iirc were Templar oriented. It'd make sense for them to have like an "Artificer" skill category for both traps and mines, and some sort of Holy skill group that'd have Brand(maybe reworked to be more holy in nature) along with stuff like Dominating Blow and other similar melee/summoner stuff that Templar was based on.

Doesn't seem there's any mobility skill though, just ways to change the base dodge roll.
Have they said anything about mines, traps, and brands? Seems odd to push combo play styles so hard, but then allow minions and totems. Or are those more active than in poe1?

Are there any mobility skills? Not just getting are quicker, but getting out of danger.

Design philosophy feels rotten to the core.
Ranger has a bunch of mobility skills. Escape Shot, Electrocuting Arrow.

I do those by not killing any mobs, and the little spirit that leaves the device travels to the next device.

Just got around to uploading my Count kill.....might be a bit to fully process on YT end, but I enjoyed it as melee.



Just got my first ascension points as Titan and am about to finish Act 2, will have to wait until tomorrow, unfortunately.

And, out of 20 or so drops out of end of Trial chests, I get one energy shield item. What the fuck.

That act 1 boss kicked my ass too. The rest of them were cake and I had no probs, but this mofo smoked me like 4x in a row. So the next day I set out to do the few final zones again and scored some more deeps and gained 1 more level. Then I went in and beat him first try but he was still tough. I think hes a bit overtuned myself in the HP dept. Yeah I know, get good and all that but im an old ass man now and twitch skills are gone, lol.

Yeah the more I play this game its pretty apparent that thee is 2 issues I have with it. Not enough gear drops, is one. And second, there isnt enough blue and rare packs in this game. Currency seems OK, but they could up the drop on the magic to rare shit a bit more. Maybe more essence packs? I only found like 2 alchs in act 1 and those gave me some good shit, but none since. The drop rate on jewlery seems low as fuck too. Only found like 3 rings and one ammy the entire time.

Edit: The tree should have some HP nodes, why the fuck did they take those out? Now your HP is totally dependent on gear and that kinda sucks. Yeah, the martial classes have to invest in STR which gives them flat, but there should be ways to get HP other than just gear or dumping in to a stat you dont need just to get some.

Not sure why I thought this was F2P. Not sure i should since I really have never liked ARPG seasons, and basically anything more than playing through a campaign and maybe an additional difficulty level or 2, or doing it with each class. Never "finished" a ARPG past Diablo 2 and like one of the torchlights or something.

Nevermind, just had to gamba a bunch to get a bit more hp items. Also apparently the dual arrow bow is a trap, because it simply doesn't track the target with a single arrow too often so real DPS gets smacked to hell on small bosses.

Melee always got better as you got levels in POE1 too. Just the gem levels made it have more AOE and of course dmg. It kinda felt like that in POE1 as well although you had more skills you could use early for leveling that made shit go boom faster like frost blades, even without much investment. Plus you always had the warchief totem to help DEEPS the bosses and rares.

So, I'm almost done with Act 2, only Dreadnought left. I didn't go Blood Mage after all, but Infernalist which seems better for minions.

I found act 2 in general to be easier than act 1, might be the build came into it's own and was just better than in act 1, or boss design was just simpler.

I am enjoying it a lot, I like most of the new systems.

I'll admit that itemization isn't very interesting, hopefully they fix that before release.

Aside from that, It's just fell in a good place for me as far as complexity and challenge.

Act 1 Boss wasn’t that bad as Merc. The worst parts were:

1) the adds during the hunt phase
2) the actual AoE of his light beam spell being about 20% bigger than the visual

The adds I actually just ended up ignoring and running / rolling in circles that phase until they despawned. The AoE I was just more careful.

The real kick in the nuts though was when he didn’t drop jack shit that was useful. One exalted maybe? Otherwise some grey shit that went in the trash.
