Right, which is why you move them all over to the PoE2 ecosystem of MTX, because now you're able to churn out content at a relatively decent pace, rather than half-assing content for BOTH games.

There's a reason they wanted to just integrate PoE1+2 into one game initially. But all the crybabies who can't ever let go of anything digital reeeeeed enough to get them to drop that idea and people naively believed they'd be able to support both games at the same pace as they support 1.
Nobody Reeeed about poe2 becoming a replacement for poe1. Nobody was expecting their stuff to xfer to poe2 either. These were decisions GGG made because they had money guys not wanting to spoil their golden goose poe1 revenue stream. You have no idea what so ever what happened. GGG was either given impossible tasks from the cman, or Jonathan/Chris 's eyes were to big for their stomach. Either way they've cornered themselves into a near impossible task if which the community had no part of.

Hey its DIablo 4 in a nutshell, looks great plays well, shit systems and fuck all to do. What a great thing to be comparable to.

PoE may be old and bloated but on a new league start there aint any arpg like it
The gap between systems with PoE 1 and PoE 2 is not large, if any. D4 has a huge gap to both games.

Universe of difference between Exilecon 2023 and the end of 2024/start of 2025. Look at how confident they were. I believe that they believed they had this by the ass. They've missed every single PoE2 date they've given us since which then bled over to massive PoE1 delays. Chris bailed on the entire thing even. Do you want to put in 80 hour work weeks again getting a brand new game off the ground or would you rather work on your Magic collection hey Chris where are you going come back.

Who knows what Tencent was telling them. But Chris and Jonathon went from super excited to OMG I have to try and put a happy face on to sell this stuff and it's obvious there are serious problems. Flip side you don't know what GGG was telling Tencent either.

Lol, two new uniques that don't look very good is all they have so far in the sense of teasers.

that 4chan leak was 100% correct.

GGG, like all modern game devs is like 95% artist, 5% devs. games look pretty, but play like shit, and have shit mechanics.
new Mtx and armors? on it. fixing the actual game? uh... someday.

But the new uniques look AWESOME! hahahahaha.

Ashamed to admit I've still been playing, but really just a few maps to unwind after work.

Yeah I am not playing as much now. I like my 91 Monk. Today actually got a drop that sold for 35 Div. I can almost get the 40 Div Gem that almost doubles my shield.

The fact that I'm almost 30% to 97 makes me feel even worse about myself :( .

Think I only got a single Tier 5 rare drop that sold for 25 div, everything else has pretty much been trash.....though I did get 2 raw divs in a single map, so that's something!

Ok, to make you feel better.

I have almost 300 hours into the game and a 93rd Witch. It took that long for me to see a drop of that kind of value.

this argument would be better if there was an alternative that did have deeper mechanics.

956 hours. bannerlord.
588 wrath of the righteous.
386 Terraria
381 kenshi
314 conan exiles.

no idea on poe1. standalone.
poe 2 I can get a rough guess due to only really playing 1 char. 9d, 14h. a respectable 216 for sure.

starsector. no idea. probably 400ish as well.

last epoch is at 194. has some good ideas, but doesnt look as good, nor play as smoothly.

and /played is not always the end all. I have 135 hours in rimworld, 98 in Oxygen not included. 58 hours in Tyranny.

144 in Vrising. I would recommend those to anyone, any time. not a ton of replay though, its not that kind of arpg.

521 in rift, 257 in starbound, 168 in lost ark. would not recommend those to anyone.

some games just eat time.

bannerlord is a good example of both amusing. some deep mechanics. some shallow as hell ones. its pretty and jank.. a ton of time spent making pretty unique towns that have no real purpose. constantly adding new visuals to armors, without fixing the underlaying problems. some people still swear by warband. but at the same time it still is already deeper and more complex then 90% of other games out there with seige, mass battles, etc.

Thanks... don't really want to flame you since you put some effort in there with the sharing...

People know what I would have said.

and I'll say it again. some games eat time.

they might have great act 1's. might be in EA and have promise that is never fulfilled. They might be great on the surface, but theres a point where you dig just deep enough and it all falls apart.

here in poe2, its even true the wasd controls are a big improvement. but can you admit, then once you get over the initial impressiones, poe2 is woefully lacking underneath? the load times, the lack of skills, mechanics, reused mechanics, horrible atlas, bad hit detection, busted skills, etc?

poe2 is a massive visual jump, but in many ways a mechanical step back. and you know I'm one of the biggest complainers on poe1's bloat. And I'm saying this.

and, no im not currently playing PoE2. bannerlord again atm. played the hell out of it for that first 2 weeks or so, then stopped. (went to kenshi>soulash2>amberland2>bannerlord)

and hell, even with 1000 hours in bannerlord, I can tell you, it has major mechanical problems Taleworlds can't seem to fix. diplomacy is a step down from warbands. and, the actual coding/a.i. for sieges, etc still has major problems. none of the factions have unique A.I. like say kenshi does. the engineering skill of Taleworlds is not on par with their art teams.

You really are a shit picking bonobo. The gaps in POE1 and POE2 systems could fill a game. We'll call it POE3.

I didn't play near as much as some here, but I certainly got my $30 out of it no doubt.

I certainly agree that the deeper into the game you get, the more it comes apart.

One thing my super casual azz ended up being surprised with was the absolute glacial pace of any improvements / changes to the game.

We all knew this was a paid beta, and I certainly don't fault them for generating over $30m in revenue with the release. I picked up Last Epoch when I was furloughed during Covid and even played that game before they had graphics on the armor. They were pretty quick to address issues and you could see steady improvement. Not so much here.

I think they are going to be in trouble with poe2 if they have to share all the dev time with poe1 as well.

..and to add to that...

The skills make no sense to me. While I only played gemling , witch, and ranger for the most part...within the first 30 mins od the game, you have the skills that will take you to end game.

Everytime I leveled and was excited to see what new skill I could use, I'd foind out that 99% of them are not practical.

By the first boss, ranger has lightning arrow and lightning rod....no need to change that prior to hitting end game.

Gemling was the same. 30 mins or so into the game and you got gas grenade...nothing else mattered.

Don't remember what lvl the skelly arcanist came at, but that was quick too...

I'd say a majority of the skills were all downgrades to the initial starting gems.

PoE 2 mechanics have more substance.

Like PoE 1 Delirium, I've done a couple today and it's just random drops.

PoE 2 Delirium drops items to anoit amulets and enchant maps.

PoE 1 has mechanics with depth too of course, but there's a huge range between whatever the fuck Tormented Spirits were meant to be and Harvest.

It's better to have 6 with substance than 20 with varying importance some of which you hardly see.

Was it a random drop?

When you guys are seeing like 10 rare drops a map are you looking at every single one to see if it has decent stats? Or are you doing something different to find good weapon drops? I feel like I'm so bored in maps I don't want to stop and inspect every item. I just want to get through it.

I just pick up Tier 4 and 5 rares and let Doryani identify them either after each map or when my inventory is full, then I spend a minute or two to see if any are good. Most of the time I just disenchant and go to the next map, unfortunately.
