having played "true melee" back in abyss and wanting to kill myself. I have to say no fucking way, for this one.
you probably could make ample use of impulsa or something, due to the "line" nature of mobs and chain reaction kills. but still yeah, moving from lane to lane. ffs, that has got to be a nightmare.

even legion I noped out of bladestorm, and swapped to cyclone. because bladestorms "attack, then move" was too slow to actually kill legions.

only melee skills with ranged or movement packed in are viable, imho.
so I mean sure, flicker/concpath/cyclone. charged dash fixes seem to have made is solid. is chain hook viable? stats seem solid. needs a foe to move though.
no idea on the state of shield charge either.
So how does a summoner build work better than a true melee skill? Don't you have to move your horde into range?

you just stand in place mostly, for this. Your horde auto targets. you can deathmark now, or just use offerings near a target, any loose minions will prioritize where you are targeting.
Convocation can be used to pull everything back to you in emergencies, or to speed things up sometimes.

Minions move a hell of alot faster then you now. Crazy amounts of move speed options. some have baked in movement skills. carrion golems have leap slam. Spectres can have flicker/leap slam, or are ranged typically.

skeletons/srs can be spawned at target and/or prioritize cursor location as well.

any movement you do is for auras mostly.

Content dictating builds to this degree is a bit tiresome. I'll probably still try out Lighting Wild Strike in the hopes of getting that 3.5 Arc back but I'm a bit apprehensive, especially since Scourge Arrow handles this so well.

Just to update my previous post - cyclone DOES get better with level (as a reply stated).

Also relevant decent weapon, but the gem level is key. Plus some additional skill points in Duelist/Marauder AOE range points that I THINK are new to the area? I know I didn't have them in my build last year.

A lot of the minions builds are ranged(ranged spectres), and the melees ones are different because it's your minions running in, not you, so who cares if they take a slap, especially since they have like 30-50k hp or are expendable(Skeletons "only" have 10k but you summon them 4 by 4 so if they get bopped it kinda doesn't matter). And the minions just kill in a large area around you if you're not moving, especially with agressive support. Hell if you use skeletons you can drop a bunch of skeletons in one lane and then go somewhere else and as long as you stay within like 1.5screen away so they don't "despawn", they'll keep killing shit there.

That said I think "melee", as in not Strike abilities would do just fine in this league, just kinda busy when the spawns are spread. But shit like bleedsplosions or impulsa just destroy blight from what I've seen, and then you have poison prolif shit that also work very well(pathfinder or bino assassin, not too sure about other good ways the new pestilent strike looks like shit and is a strike anyway). You're just gonna have to whirl around a fuckton between each lanes, versus just standing in the middle and shooting(or grabbing a drink if necro).

Okay so I just did my first Blighted map, a T4 Lookout, and objectively it may have been the worst experience I have ever had playing PoE. I believe my first several experiences in the lab have been buried deep enough that I no longer remember them, so take that for what it is worth.

In retrospect I would have been better served to just sit in the middle by the pump and cyclone everything as it came to me. But I actually tried to, you know, do the mechanic, and I think it penalized me (clearly, I failed). Also, the uniques are seriously tanky shit, and I had several of the stupid jumping beastmen uniques going bonkers.

Have to say, not a good first impression.

You did pick about the worst possible ability for it

Cyclone, or melee in general? I have a necromancer waiting in the wings, just wanted to try it.

Like doing Legion with a Cleave build.

Melee is really bad at blights. The running back and forth plus clicking menus and also needing to be up close to do damage is a serious disadvantage. I knew I would hate clicking on icons going into this and I was right, I hate it. It can all be overcome mostly but it's just too much work. Once again though I'm going to have to bring up that THE OLD TEC SLAM WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT FOR THIS. Forever salty.

So this dropped just like this. I want to annul off that mana so bad but even without doing that, this surely should be worth multi-modding to 90% yes?

I wouldn't waste any currency on a wand without +1 minion gems. I'd just sell it as is if someone wants to try to multimod it. Up to you I guess, and I supposed for spectre builds +1 isn't that much until you can hit 31(which requires a shit ton of stuff since they didn't add the +2 on wands like they said early on).

GGG pulled the salvage box already, said there too many negative complaints.
Should either be free, or if you have to pay, it should guarantee not getting dupes. It's stupid you pay for a box that requires dupes from other boxes you paid for and that can still result in getting dupes. Considering the microtransactions in this game are far from cheap, they shouldn't be trying to pull this bullshit.

They are [.........] close to understanding the MTX market, but that remaining gap really gets them in trouble by times. This was a fucking stupid idea without guarantee of no dupes. Shit they should have included some sort of lower chance of dupe algorithms in their stupid boxes after all I have read of what people get. I think it would have netted them more investment in the long run.

But what do I know, in spite of my long history of alcohol, nicotine, food and coffee addictions the one thing that has never suited my fancy is loot box gambling. I even skipped the collectible card fad trying to get those shiny metallic. So I am immune to the MTX thing, and looking in from the outside.

I like the wings and the portal effects, and typically either luck into them, earn them, or spend remaining points from tab purchases during a sale.

I planned to try lacerate. Seems that would be better than most.
