4.0 is definitely gonna be a complete graphics rework. They hired a ton of positions in the past year specifically for it.
Just saw the MTX leak for exilecon and it’s devourer portal. I almost spent 2500 bucks on it, would have felt like buying a high school class ring.

I think 4.0 actually needs more then people think. And, I'm starting to worry, they AREN'T pushing it far enough.
I think 4.0 basically needs to be PoE 2.
if not a new engine, an engine overhaul.
A major rollback on the power creep. remove/rework many skils/supports entirely.
male/female select. new models. voiced through the entire game.
major atlas rework. remove the basic map drop hurdle.
Cut alot of the bloat out. essences, and such.

You could fossil block if you want to get specific suffixes or prefixes. It's much easier than essence crafting, although it's considerably more expensive.

As much as I don't like doing all the acts 6-9 times per league, I don't agree. It'd be a nice QoL, but I don't think it has anything to do with 4.0's success. The sulphite change even lets you get to like level 100 without ever getting passed act 4 if you really wanted to.

I think it's possible they'll have something, although they will force you to do the story at least once either per account or per league. The latter I think is acceptable too, it's not THAT bad doing it once, just kinda sucks having to redo it several times even with twink gear.
They might have something else planned though, you could just map from lvl 1, but with reduced density/drops, in random map tilesets(basically D3 rifts, the normal ones). They could have a new system entirely.
If they add more story they'll definitely need to come up with something though.
One week to go anyway, and then one year until it's added. Meanwhile don't have too much to look forward to next league, will probably skip and try to catch up a bit on my games before MHW expansion releases.

They updated the schedule page of the event. Kripp is doing a bunch of stuff on he first day apparently. Also they have Rhykker interviewing the original D2 guys(Brevik & co).

They aren't, they just invited them to talk about stuff I guess. I think Brevik might have consulted with them for the chinese launch or something but otherwise nothing actually important
, as of yet. It's possible they have some announcements in that regard but not sure, might just be to have "the diablo guys" in their announcement after Diablo IV announcement or something.
