My computer is relatively old, 1060ti with 6 gigs of video ram and 16 gig of system ram. My system played just fine before texture streaming save for silly shit like chain HoI popping an entire Legion.Wait people still have texture problems? That mid-league patch a while back basically resolved that across the board I thought.
I played basically this whole league without even a hint of performance issues or graphical pop-in nonsense.
Orb seems pretty stupid. I actually liked the idea of of bases having a bit of variance (provided you can filter for it). Was one of the better systems in D2 where a well rolled archon plate or whatever was actually relatively valuable. Adding an orb that rerolls kind of just invalidates the entire system though and all it's gonna mean is there's now one more step in making your astral plate base now after quality/sockets/white sockets etc.
Since then it's been a lottery of longer load times and texture popins. Sure, they have made some improvements, but it's not anywhere near what it used to be. It's still quite easy to get popins where the engine had 100% assurance that texture was going to be used. Or frequent hitching while your shader gets raped.
I have no proof but I bet the issue is nowhere near resolved. You don't hear about much anymore maybe because the people it still affects have gone from anger to acceptance.
