the hidden buff is that you can get 100% pierce on any projectile using a few of the new nodes. Dual spark totems are going to make a come back with the damage buff on spark and no longer having the damage penalty from fork. Or if your going to use ice spear, the second form can get 100% pierce chance too and end up critting a lot of folk.

It almost sounds like split arrow or burning arrow with crit, pierce, fork, gmp, etc will become uber. Although it wasn't hurting before.

Think I might remake my original "cold/crit" witch.

My buzzsaw scion outleveled her last season to become my highest character. And she had been sitting in standard since beta.
went back to play her a bit during this waiting period.

She's old. Clarity/disc auras. Freezing pulse, lmp, faster proj, added lit. main skill. Cold pen+ice spear secondary. arc/spell totem/faster cast as shock/fun/range.
Frostbite and elem weakness. Some of this was changed at one point. frostbite added, and temp chains removed it seems. She predates ALOT of skills.
Her gear is TERRIBLE too. Shes in act 2 merciless... but she predates act 3 entirely.

First thing I did when playing her now, was swap added lit damage for power charge on critical. Not 100% sure on how the damage works out. The added lit, gave a secondary element, and stacked shock pretty fast.
Freezing pulse is 22% crit chance, and 300% crit damage with passives.
With power charge on crit, and the current passive tree, she gets 5 charges, pretty quick. for 37% crit chance.

New tree will allow a similar build. this is what she is now.

Might try it with arctic breath or something though.
Or, doesn't even NEED to be cold. Would work with arc itself. Cold is mostly for the chain freezing, and pulse shotgun. Back when this build was a thing, pulse was the king of witch spells.

On Taiwanese server, just got to cruel using Ice Spear crit build in training. Some thoughts:

1) Brutus isn't that much more difficult, but Merveil is a total bitch. You have to be careful simply stacking cold now. Without spoiling the fight, she does fire and lightning damage in p2. I'm not sure if Piety was any different as I chain-froze her and she pretty much didn't do anything. Dominus seemed the same.
2) Holy shit were health pots buffed. The lvl 34 pot now heals 940 in 8 seconds.
3) Some of the new exiles are brutal. The EK totem exile was an absolute bitch for me, the only time I died so far, and it took two deaths to kill him.
4) The colors in the game feel more vibrant/different. Much less of a "brown" feel to the game now.
5) Lots of minor changes to spell effects.
6) Extra variety in zones and some of the new zone bosses give some nice spice to areas.
7) Lots of new "structures" in zones, guess many of them will be filled with forsaken master shit.

how did cast on crit get nerfed?
I think it's 20% less chance to crit at level 1. There wasn't anything about scaling in the post I read, but I also don't really follow CoC stuff so I could easily have missed something.

What about Cast on crit, Ice Shot, Poison Arrow, Burning Arrow? Use Frenzy as your main skill. All of the other three benefit from the Increased Physical damage you are stacking. Can also substitute any of those with Puncture and maybe go for a build that stacks Chaos over time, burning and Bleeding on a mob all at once. Here is the general purpose 90 point build I am thinking of (Using POESkilltree offline app)

Live one now maxes at 88% chance to cast supported spells on crit.
One on Taiwan maxes at 68%.
Which makes it 0.77x as effective, coupled with the fact that it's a little harder to get good bow crit nodes as some of them were split into spell and regular crit, or moved to less convenient locations. It's kind of a double nerf to CoC. Not unwarranted, but still quite a nerf.

Just looking at the new tree and Most combinations of CI + caster seem quite strong. The new shadow tree just screams freeze pulse or etheral knives with the combination of proj speed and phys damage nodes. Of course I'm sure there are still more skill/nerf buffs waiting in the patch notes, and the garena stuff may get changed as well by then.

ive been saying it everywhere but noone listens. EK is a red herring. With the buff FP got, it will outperform EK and do it without needing the 20 points in phys nodes.

Dps wise FP will outperform no doubt, but with the changes to max res/aura's, it's easier for EK to mitigate reflect since you can still stack armor or use AA so it's a trade off.

between purity of ice and a sapphire flask, FP wont have any issues with reflect.

In cruel act 3 currently (HC) on my DW Block Acrobatics Flicker strike duelist. Only taking nodes that are within relevant similarity to the 1.2 patch. The build so far is performing very well in terms of clear speed and boss killing potential. Spell block and dodge is a lot better than I had anticipated it being.
