its a rehash of an old league that wasnt very successful, and done so in a way that is against whats the most fun aspect of ARPGs. The best part of ARPGs is moving from area to area quickly, killing large pacts of mobs with big aoes and watching loot fly. There will need to be large loot incentives to have any reason to do portals at all. apart from that, its against GGGs design philosophy for these leagues. Hardcore leagues are meant to be be challenges. Theres nothing increasing difficulty in Beyond at all.
ironically, the spontaneous nature of it was the best part of the Invasion league and its the part they did away with in their copy.
