It's hard to say anything negative about their financial decisions since this is one of the best f2p games out there, but still, locking something like better trading behind a pay wall isn't something I agree with. Why premium tabs only for trade improvements?

I think if you're playing enough to sell items you can throw GGG a few bucks in premium tabs

It's just a very strange move for how they've run the game since the beginning. PoE has always been an excellent example of f2p done right. It can be played 100% free and you are just as competitive as anyone else, and they can still pay the bills by letting rich players shoot rainbows and other nonsense micro-transactions. The absolute necessity of trading at the high end, and how horrible the systems to actually do said trading is one of the biggest downfalls of the game. After 3? or whatever years, they're finally working on making trading less of a pita, but making it a pay only feature is just.... weird.

Procurement and Acquisition still function AFAIK. I get where you're coming from but I'm sure these trading enhancements (and I assume this is the first of quite a few) probably cost GGG a ton of man hours.

I think the league looks fun however I have a feeling it will be like warbands and talisman in that it won't be very rewarding in the end, even with extreme grinds they really don't want you to find the good stuff it seems. I mean search for unique greatwolf talismans in talisman and you'll see what I mean - there's hardly any truly good ones and the league is over

The newly shown summoner belt is getting me closer and closer to throwing my hands and going "FUCK IT, necro it is!" but I know I shouldn't. I always get disappointed in the end...

New belt looks kinda hard to use though, you'll need a decent amount of life regen nodes(which I guess were buffed or whatever). You don't pot very often on a summoner, but when you do, you really want to be able to. Can't leech shit since you do no damage and such so yeah. On the other hand, it does make your pots on your zombies way better. General animation tag is like 50% or whatever, so you get double healing from pots on pets, making them quite a bit tankier.

I guess if you're ES based then it'd be fine, the 12% health is wasted but with ZO you can use the regen on your ES instead, and you have no need for health pots at that point.

New league sounds meh, lets see if there are any details left that make it more than a gimmick. Still not that big of deal since the ascendancy classes were sure to eclipse any league idea they could come up with. And the amount of buttmad on reddit is funny. Can still use acquisition et all for free and people are still screaming pay 2 win. Sure, some point out that these sites may stop being maintained but also keep in mind this is just ggg's first implementation of the trade changes as well.

edit: Have yet to see what the league specific uniques will be as well.

Literally anyone who plays enough PoE to want to run a trade shop should have bought stash tabs earlier or should have no problem buying them now. Anyone bitching about this should be summarily banned for being a raging faggot.

How awesome would it be to have a little stat pop up on every reddit whiner showing their money paid to GGG and their hours spent played as a ratio.

PoE is like the only F2P game where there aren't many things that feel worth buying, unless you have a raging hardon for virtual hats. The exception are stash tabs, so I think anyone disliking this change is an idiot. Even if they made people pay to use some kind of auction house, I'd still gladly drop that money.

I even bought some cosmetic sets simply to support the game. I honestly find F2P players rather infuriating with their entitlement. If they're so concerned with Acquisition not being supported in the future then give the developer some money via PayPal. But instead they'd rather whine and complain. Sorry but software costs money. A lot of money.

They could also make the stash tab UI a bit more usable, like showing more than just 1 row of 10 tabs or letting you keep the drop down menu open...

The public stash tab isn't even pay to win, people are just idiots. Beside that, people (gamers) need to learn that it cost money to make and maintain a game. You actually have to pay your employees....with money....not Doritos. If you haven't dropped money on this game and you've been playing it and liking it, your a cheap or poor pos.

TBH i consider their supporter packs terribly overpriced crap. Dota 2 does cosmetics a lot better - you spend 2 dollars here or there for a new hat. Asking for 100+ USD at once is pretty daring, when it's probably the amount I spend on Steam over a whole year. There's a lot of stuff they could sell without upsetting the balance, yet improving the base experience - guilds have been criminally underused. Give me a guild ladder, bigger guild stash, in-guild auction house, maybe let people run legacy leagues for 50-100 people and void the results.

yeah, I think that is something poe messes up. supporter packs cost too much.

there is no real great 5-10$ value item.

Every time I give PoE money, its just points. and those points sit there till something catches my eye, mostly out of.. eh.. why not. I had 2 or 3 premium packs. a couple mtx here and there. a number of those winter/infernal mysteryboxes, just because I had points sitting there, doing nothing.

Skin xfer being a consumable is the worst.

They need to crank out skill skin MTXs. Quite a few builds I ran I couldn't even buy an MTX for my skill. And those are usually in the $5-10 range.

As for the packs the deal isn't horrible. Usually you get 80% of the cost in points then you also get a few canned MTX as well including portraits and portal skins. Whales especially probably go giddy over the over-the-top portal effects of the latest supporter packs. Dat $440 pack portal is tiiiight.
