Leagues always start with the expansion patch. Seeing as August 4th is a Friday (not sure where Pyros got tuesday from), I dont see this changing.

As for people thinking about builds, wait to see patch notes before deciding on anything. We havnt seen any number tuning on beta at all and you can be sure there will be some changes.

Oh it's the 4th, for some reason I read it was the 8th. Probably read the date with NA month/day order and got confused. And after that I saw in their official post they mentionned the league does start on the same day.

And builds should wait for the next beta big patch, they said that one's focused on balance so there's gonna be a bunch of nerfs incoming. Although there's probably going to be more between that last beta and release.

Update 5: While the microtransaction migrations are running correctly and people who get in are able to use the new system, there are some significant realm stability issues that are disconnecting everyone else. We are shutting the realm down in order to redeploy 2.6.2 until this problem is solved. We are very sorry about the inconvenience. This is as frustrating for us as it is for you guys :(

so 3 tries at this mtx system down? maybe the 4th will work lol.

Update 7: Upon examination, the stability issues are due to constant crashes of the account database shards due to some stupid problem that is my completely fault. We have fixed this crash and are going to spin the wheel again while there's downtime and everyone is already upset with us. The current plan is to redeploy 2.6.3 soon (10-20 mins) and have another shot!

I'll unprivate my profile once the site is back up. But necro zombies past 80 is actually a lot more fun than I thought. Definitely need to get a Shav's cause the Coruscating Elixer route for low life is so sketchy. Sometimes you just don't know when chaos is going to hit you and you just die.

I want to try out those new lightning skills - They look like they have a lot of possible interactions both together and by themselves. Pair up the channeling movement skill with ball lightning and that other lightning projectile one for lightning balls everywhere.

Almost made it to 88 today after slogging through 86 and most of 87 for about 4 hours. Yeah, that's slow, but I get easily distracted, alt tab for various stuff, or die to stupid shit. Doesn't help that the race economy sucks so I was still using a Tabula from level 7 and some shitty amulet. Oh well, probably wouldn't have won an MTX from the level 90 bracket anyway. Yes, I'm quitting now instead of when the actual race ends because I likely won't have enough time left once the weekend ends. 88 and 89 were looking to take probably 6+ hours.

This game needs an AH.

I bought a cheap beta key and toyed around with some builds. I also second the advice waiting for the final patchnotes. So far we can only tell that double dipping went away, Vinkthar's been nerfed, ES Values are much weaker now so lowlife might be a very niche thing now. But I doubt that some things like the current state sunder is in will stay. Some things remain under the radar, though. Wildstrike berserker, Icecrash builds, those things still hit in the million rage even with budget gear.
SRS, well might want to get a lvl69 baron head, Severed in sleep cutlass, Covenant Spidersilk Robe and of course +minion dmg jewels before the last guy realizes how chill and efficient this build is.

I tried some melee builds but honestly, if GGG intended that the meta should shift from caster/range to something else, they really did a poor job. The ES change and the new "need every life node on the deck"-meta makes some builds almost pointless to play. Trololol-facetanking is gone but so is every assassins build etc.

I don't know if I'd classify sunder as OP since it kinda sucks single target. Still, very fun skill. I haven't tried wild strike, now I want to. Ice Crash can't be supported by multistrike, which puts a somewhat low ceiling on it.

Is there any word on patch notes yet? With the huge changes coming, I'm not even going to bother with picking a build before they release the "final" notes.

The new double dipping is going to be conversion unless they nerf it before live.

We'll most likely get the patch notes 2 days before release like always and the JSON at the same time as well. I have no Fing idea what to play for 3.0, like Kiroy said elemental conversion for melee builds is OP right now but still not sure =/

Thinking I might even start FB totems and transition into something else?
