Sustaining red maps with properly rolled / chiseled maps has been perfectly balanced up until last league where they completely fucked it up. It was just not fun having to trade for maps and they are always fun focused with their updates.

Last league the only way to maintain reds was sextent blocking and that was a whole nother level of trading / economic hell.

I have my doubts on what you call 'properly rolled' maps. For every person complaining about this theres 2 or 3 that say they sustain easier now than ever before. For example would be wizardhawk above you or me, I never had any trouble sustaining red maps after I had a base of 10 of them to start with. Sure I went up and down in tiers but I never dropped down to t10s.

I should be more clear. Last league sustaining 10-11s was easy, 12s was meh and 13+ was impossible w/o sextent fuckery. I rolled all reds fully alch'd and chisseled and 13+ I vaal'd. I got like 3 t16 drops all last season.

Season before they were dropping like candy (comparatively). I wish we could look up personal league stats but I did a fuckton of red mapping. Maybe I just got rng raped though.

I dont think the goal of map drops has ever been to easily sustain the highest tiers. Its designed in a way that you vary from higher to lower tiers.

ditto.

  • Added two-ish new vendor recipes.
  • Improved the appearance of metal throughout the game.
  • More skills can now burn the grass.

  • player traps now explode at the end of their duration, triggering their skills. The exceptions to this are Bear Trap and Conversion Trap, which still break at the end of their duration

  • volley and Projectiles Nova now interact by creating projectile sources to either side of the player based on the number of projectiles, dividing those projectiles among those sources, and then each of those sources firing their projectiles in a nova.
  • You are now twice as likely to obtain maps you have not yet completed on the Atlas as maps you have. This is intended to help players who choose to play solo complete their Atlas.

  • The Acrobatics Keystone now grants 30% less Energy Shield, down from 50% less Energy Shield. This is to better enable hybrid Energy Shield/Evasion characters, for whom Acrobatics should be a valid choice.

If you get reflect, reroll the map. You should be able to handle most curses with a stibnite flask of warding.

Jugg tectonic strike looks appealing for brain dead starter, but it's going to SUPER meta.

I never do this because the vast majority of the time I Vaal my maps, especially high red tier maps. Getting crazy pack sizes or making the map Un-Id or go up a tier, This was a big part of how I was able to map sustain and it saved me a lot of currency over chaos rolling maps. So being able to do lots of map mods is key for me. ‘Rerolling’ for reflect is not an option for how I want to play

Alch-scour is cheaper than chaos.

"10% increased action speed" on Tailwind....so, it's not a more?
ACTION speed. it is more.

Acceleration Shrine
  • 50% increased Action Speed
  • 80% increased increased Projectile Speed
  • Action Speed is a modifier affecting animation speed. This effect stacks additively with other modifiers like Temporal Chains and Chill.

Sweet, thanks. Definitely going Deadeye Wander. Excited to see how chain interacts with KB and open maps.

Haven't decided on my bossing character.

2/10 patch notes. Basically nothing changed other than Ascendancies. People going to be running the same skills for 3 leagues in a row now.

People expect too much IMO. The ascendancy changes were a fairly momentous task. Have a feeling skill balance is due up next league. This happens every league and if they'd have done a skill revamp and not touched ascendancy people would have been bitching about the same top ascendant classes being played 3 leagues in a row.

"We have skill buffs planned that have been pushed to later 3.1.x patches or 3.2.0 due to being incomplete as of this week."

I expected what they said they would provide. I dont find that to be unreasonable.

well traps and minions got huge buffs.

and that volley+proj nova might change things up for alot of proj skills.

Ascendant sab.
1% life regen per second, for each of your traps triggered recently, up to 20%.
they now all have a 4s timer, trigger on timeup. This makes lit trap insanely good for curse on hit, for an ascendant. lit trap, coh, cluster trap, curse
(also 30% inc aoe, 6% elem pen, and 25% chance to blind on hit.)

Balancing wise, re-doing ascendancy before skills seems like the much smarter move. Will seque into a skill change a lot smoother.
