Whisperer using lightning arrow will easily carry you to 80, you dont even need to transition to dex/mana stack anything else. Im already 72 and still oneshotting everything in maps.

Yep. Been 4 years since I last played and now that I have the POE itch again figured it would be worth it to get to 80. Trying a Scion, think will do RF to maps and then see what happens. No idea what's going on with the Kingsmarch stuff. Going to need to watch a few catch up vids.

I was not going to play it but I want to unlock the cosmetics so started a bit late.
I'm doing that Arakaali build. Just switched to SRS after first lab, seems pretty strong even now.

Went scion and just used caustic arrow the whole way to 80 in SSF. Wasn't sure I was going to have enough damage to even do low maps without putting in some hours to gear up when I finished campaign, but scraped by doing up T3 and skipping bosses. Now to uninstall forever maybe =O.

Took Wildspeaker to get the cat aura generating changes to sustain Flicker Strike. But I'm sustaining it without the cat stuff? I'm a decade out of date on how easy Flicker Strike is to use.
Have 1.5% damage per 5 Dex stacking Dex and +100% spell suppression which I've converted to Spell Dodge.
Feels pretty good but not especially interesting.

Confirmed, I still far prefer PoE 1 over 2. No contest. I hate the campaign so much in PoE2, the dead-ends and back-tracking; did it 2 times and I can't do it anymore. And the end-game map layouts, OMG, fucking kill me.
I don't know if I have just done the campaign in PoE 1 so many times that I just go on autopilot, but the thousandth time was easier than the second time in PoE2.

I talk mad shit about POE2 but I'm missing the gold mechanic for buying/selling stuff from vendors from the campaign.
Still having it for respecs opens such a smoother leveling experience when you don't have to cuck your leveling build because your main ability doesn't come online until 70+
I also miss pausing, and the new animations. However the sub 1 second load times of POE1 are really noticeable.
I haven't had time to play at all but I'm ending up going penis brand sanctum rushing. Just realized I'm not going to be able to get gold right so won't be able to unlock my town. Kind of sucks thinking on that.
Also locus mines automation feels horrible. How do people like this shit?

You're referring to dead zone where it won't trigger? It's why I've dropped PS Locus Mines(before they buffed PS) in the past. I'm play mines(and poe) to be lazy. Fuck aiming.

Yes it feels horrible. Its weird its like the better the skill in HC SSF is (apparently I don't play that), the worse it has to feel. I felt the same way about DD (obvious different reasons), not CoC DD though that was amazing. Actually got 4 stones and T17s in SSF with that.

Locus Mines feel great in open areas and make you want to gouge your eyes out in tight corridors, especially if there are doors involved.
Power Siphon is severely overtuned baseline though. It's got so many layers of built in damage scaling. You don't have to use Locus Mines, they just happen to get the extra 2 mines and a lower "less damage" multiplier than blastchain.

Thought I made good time on campaign. But when I looked at /played it was 16 hours to Maps, kinda sad how slow I am, my friend does it in 5-6 hours but then he got PoE autism.
Gear seems super expensive as well. Even corrupted shit 6-linkd are 50 Chaos.

Yea this economy is gonna be a lot different for a lot of people if they came in to POE in the last year or two.
It's way closer to like, HC trade, or old leagues like betrayal etc in terms of size, so the item availability is extremely low. In a regular league with half a million people you could reasonably buy stuff like off-meta T1 uniques, or semi-rare boss drops like ashes etc, by the end of the weekend, but that just isn't gonna be the case here.
As of writing there are 0 ashes of the stars even listed for sale, or marylene's, or bino's, or basically any relevant T1 unique.
