Has anyone actually playing this figured out higher map sustain? The idols seem to have a fixed amount of +maps on them. I got one with a small % of additional connected map.
Can't be arsed trading for maps but I'm one shotting everything including bosses so T6 is boring.

I'm having trouble staying motivated for this event. Perhaps an endgame system that relies on trade(and replaces one that didn't) wasn't the best idea after PoE2. And while I definitely despise GGG's overreliance on trade, I don't know if that's the main culprit here.
Maybe it's combined with anything that's actually unique to this event is kneecapped by popularity. For example, MFA is made possible again but no way am I going to fight the popularity on that build.
Anyone got some new stuff to try? I started elemental BAMA, a build I hadn't even played that much previously, and already getting bored.

I think the idols are something that is going to take a week to get obscenely good. I'm only at 65 atlas achievement atm, but I've got my carto filled and a tab filled. I've not bought or sold any, or 3-1 or anything. The OVERALL power I have is much greater than I'd have for my 65 points, but obviously it's less focused. I still have shit I don't want like Ultimatum and Heist in there, but I've mostly pushed them off by just keeping shit I do want like Harvest/Jun/Breach/Ritual.
For ~3 days in, I have more power but less control. In ~7 days if I continue to play I'll have way more power and way more control. But if people aren't enjoying the league they'll never get there, so it's understandable to ditch early. The economy is interesting in if you're a FOTM you're fucked, but if you have a "good" rare it'll move quickly for a decent price. I imagine in a day or two all the good rares will lose 80% of their values as the conglomerates and shit figure out their fractured item farms and whatever the fuck they're going to do. Your 120 hp 90 res 25 movement speed boots will go from 15c to 1c.
Guildmate in SSF has had little to no trouble doing mostly what he wants with idols. He just 3:1's shit ones and black markets them from Faustus.

I didn't roll a char but am curious how the idols look in endgame since I still believe this is some sort of testing for future POE2 implementation.
Is it still possible to focus entirely on one or two mechanics?

Fishing rods are cheap enough that always crit something something herald autobomber is probably better than it'll ever be again.
If you're willing to play the bladefall+bladeblast gameplay style again I'm pretty sure double baron strength stack zombies as your 'corpses' to detonate will probably make the biggest DD's seen in a while.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm not particularly interested in anything fishing rod because that ascendancy and autobombers have tended to be squishy. But it definitely is unique.
I like bladefall+bladeblast(to a degree, still 1+2 gameplay) because you can reasonably clear with bladefall. Is that possible with falling zombie?

White Wind is a T5 unique, it's always cheap. I considered flicker(because wildespeaker) but I can't get a PoB with a normalized gear level to acceptable dps. Especially for the downside of having to frequently backtrack for loot.The ice flicker strike dagger White Wind was 1c this weekend.

The only thing Phrecia has taught me so far is that I cannot effectively level through the campaign with a Ranger. I so rarely do a Shadow or Ranger build that I am just unfamiliar with the right side of the tree and dex skills. Such shitty dps and defenses in my build so far.

Hmm the falling zombie should leave a corpse still yea, but you'd be missing out on the ~50% more life from the base gem then. Would have to look at the math on how much life you could get out of a baron+baron stacking setup to really know if falling would be good enough corpses or not.

Marauder is king of campaign.
Here's how my horrible experience is going. I hate locus mines. Do merc hoping for pbrand of dissipation. Hit the jackpot that guarantees alt gem of same skill. Woohoo! Get the shitty pbrand. Hmm guess I'll just respec and use it until I can farm another one. This skill sucks. Repecced character out of mines. Broke. For some reason my pbrand leveling was locked in my off hand. Level 2 gem.
Why am I like this?
