I actually have not been excited for a new console since the PS1 came out, really looking forward to what the PS4 will do. Hopefully they won't be plagued with any hardware issues.

Wall Street Jurnal got an article up on PS4 demand exceeding Sony's expectations.

"Sony (NYSE:SNE): Sony has raised its initial internal sales estimates for the PlayStation 4, based on early indications that demand will be stronger than though previously. Now, one of the largest concerns among managementis the supply necessary to meet said demand. With a $100 premium over the PS4 and tighter restrictions on game sharing, Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox seems to be pushing more gamers Sony's way."

There are also less Xbone pre-order slots available across all vendors. Just reading some of the threads on Neogaf places like Gamestop have double amount of PS4 pre-order slots available over the Xbone. MS is also having some production issues with the memory on the Xbone which will make supply constrained.

This is shaping up to be the biggest marketing disaster pretty much ever. I can't think of a single situation where a company went so out of the way to alienate customers and drive someone to their competitor. It's just crazy. I still can't believe that they are being this stupid. Surely they have to cave on some of the silly stuff?

The Xbone will still ship and it will still sell "some" consoles. There are bunches of people that don't follow this stuff too close, and will just buy whatever plays halo 12. That being said, the next 5 months, from here until black Friday, will see Microsoft backpedaling and trying to spin this whole situation so hard, that we should seriously consider using them as an alternative energy source.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a reorganizing of some of their deck chairs, with a few firings and hirings, just to help legitimize their new gamer focused direction.

Either that or this will in fact be the biggest marketing cock up since the advent of penis enlarging spam mail.

My guess is that the PS4 is shipping no earlier than October 29th, AC4's release date. Though I think it'll be closer to Watch Dog's release date, which is November 19th.

Really? I guess Gamestop just liked using up its own fucked up Q's then - I was quoting how Gamestop (well Babbage's and Babbage's Etc. when I was there) did the Q's when I was with them a long while ago. (Left around N64/Dreamcast era)
