Hrm there is a 2 hour trial for stellar blade I'm gonna give it a go.

My hesitation for the dark soul games is that I wasn't very good at them on PC. I should of used a controller but oh well. Now that I can't really pc game much anymore I could give them a try but with my condition I doubt I'll be any better on a controller
Try SB on its Story mode difficulty if you're not huge fan of action/souls combat.

She may also like Astros playground. It's free and is the "tech demo" for PS5 but my kids loved it

Definitely I would try out Astro's Playroom since it's free. It only takes a couple hours to beat. I had my PS5 for like a year and had never tried it because I thought it looked stupid. Once I did I felt stupid for not trying it earlier.

If you like Astro's Playroom you'll love AstroBot (it's a full $60-$70 game you have to buy though). It's a 3D platformer that's very forgiving (tons of checkpoints, nothing is missable, etc), I absolutely suck at video games now and was able to get through everything including the challenge levels and the Plat.

Ok enjoying Stellar Blade but i must admit i'm getting my shit pushed in. Not used to having a delay when potion spamming so i'm basically standing around like a retard trying to heal getting smacked over the head. combat is definitely less spammy and more tactical than I am used to.

just about done with the 2 hour free trial, debating do i just drop the full price for this game knowing that I have like 10 other games for free to play? it says i'm like 23% of the way done? There's no way, how long is this game? I'm assuming there are achievements/side quests/etc that extend gameplay?

for Stellar Blade, ~25-30 hours to just do the main story, ~60-70 hours to 100% and platinum the game - you must finish the game in NG+ for plat, but it takes around 6-8 hours if you just do main story and skip all side quests. There is a trick to 100% the game with just two playthroughs (instead of 3) but i don't remember what it is, something to do with using PS+ cloud near the end to make two different choices.

I finished a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, honestly my favorite game of the past 6-8 months. The visuals, hot NPCs, and combat is really fantastic and once you practice and get good at it, it tends to be relatively easy since boss fights are telegraphed with only a few simple moves. Its way, way, way easier than elden ring, dark souls, god of war, etc.

Trophies are not tied to difficulty at all so you can finish the game at any difficulty.

PS+ isn't required to complete it in two as long as you defeat the final boss without dying. Losing and retrying the final fight saves and locks your file to whatever choice you made, but winning in one go lets you save scum after the credits and pick the other option.

If you want all collectible outfit variations you need three runs anyways since you have to max the progress bar and complete the extra area twice for NG+ recolors plus a run where you don't for the 3rd ending.

Getting most of the Survival skills will help a lot; easier dodge / parry timings, some counter hits off dodge parry, etc.

Going for Plat is a nice goal, and it doesn't require you to find all the collectibles. Also, NG+ opens up more skills to unlock, suit upgrades and new gears.

I recently started a brand new playthrough, but only wearing the skin suit, mostly on Normal, but I did switch to Story for the first Alpha.

I loved this game too. I even listened to the sound track in the car for a bit lol. I made it to the 2nd to last boss on the hardest difficulty but had to tone it down finally. What a great game, may have to replay it now that I bought a Pro (for the VR enhancement of other games)

Ok pet peeve time:

Why the fuck does every single game want to reinvent the wheel for control schemes? I get vastly different genres buttons are gonna do different shit, if i'm a spaceship or i'm an amoeba or i'm a race car, buttons gonna do different shit, I get that. But if i'm a dude playing a dude pretending to be another dude, then X needs to be fucking jump, ok? Like I don't give a shit what else you got going on, X is fucking jump. Circle can be dodge I guess I don't really care, just pick a button and stick with it. Square is melee except now its not, R2 is melee? wait in this game R2 is shoot.

Like get your shit together guys. PC figured this out in the 1990s. WASD, left mouse is fire 1, right mouse is fire 2. Space bar is jump, shift is sprint.

Console game designers, get your shit together.

Monster Hunter is definitely the worst for that. I don't think there's a single fucking control outside of UI stuff that does what you'd expect it to in any other game. I'm actually surprised they don't force all regions to use the backwards Japanese X/O buttons for cancel/accept.

completed Spider-Man: Miles Morales (it was free) and about to finish Spider-Man: Remaster. Thinking i'll try one of the assassin's creeds next? which is better Valhalla or Odyssey?

depends on if you like greek islands circa 400 BC more or england/vikings circa 900 AD. I platinum'd both games and both are solid 8/10 open world explore-cool-history games, I just personally like ancient Greece more than brits but its really fun playing either one. The advantage of Valhalla is you can totally get immersed in the world/game if you watch Vikings, Last Kingdom, Barbarian, etc to get into the period/mood. Not as many options for ancient Greece except 300 (the game is set close to that time period).

if you play Odyssey play as the chick, she's the way cooler character and you can lez out with some hot dykes and your PC is a massive stacked chick. If you play Valhalla play as the dude, the VA is better and of course a dude vikingar is way cooler than a shield maiden
