Just started a level 1 SK, I have some plat if anyone wants to come and join me.
Not too bad so far, wish I had a duo partner though
Just started a dark elf wizard last night. Almost 6 now. Could always use a partner as well.
I have a 27 War that I play from time to time... If anyone else is around that level, I'd be down for a group on occasion.
Why didn't you start a level 2 SK?
Names Monsuun send me a /t if you need monetary assistance or want to group. Level 13 now.
I got a 60 wizard I don't play/haven't played in quite some time. Would sell/trade it reasonably.
I'm still playing this from time to time. I've mostly been working on my shaman recently. I have him at level 35 and 10 dose sow potions trivial now. I also have a 50 monk and 55 warrior if I'm ever needed by anyone. Shaman - Angier. Monk - Yoshizo. Warrior - Rahlae.
Haven't touched this in a while. Have a bunch of plat floating around, maybe I'll jump in during winter break on a twink.
Is the server still somewhat populated?
Any progress on getting this shit running on a mac?
It's been pretty decent. 750 people on right now.
I'm enjoying it. Great classic EQ nostalgia. Hit 12 last night, still in basic cloth
I manage to find a group every day without too much hassle at levels 5-12 so far.
So, no one here plays this?
I got it running on my MBA with wine, but it's tons easier to just bootcamp windows and play that way.
I've been on it for a couple of years. Really enjoyed the leveling part, as the sever does an excellent job of stimulating the nostalgia part of the brain and recreating the old zones. The raiding scene is pretty stale due to the server being stuck in Kunark for a hell of a lot longer than on live (by which I mean Velious has not been released on the same timeline as it was on live), but a lot of the server are just social EQ junkies so you find lots of people with multiple high level alts. I think the raid scene will thrive a lot more when Velious comes out (supposedly 6 months away) as it will open up a lot of new content and multi-hour raiding vs "omg dragon has popped kill it 25 seconds after it spawns".
Recent changes in GM staff have been a huge improvement, too.
This is the understatement of the year. Also next year, because it's close enough, and Velious isn't likely to be released in 2013, right?
Some friends and I just picked the game back up ~ I just went back to my old account and was sittin' pretty in KC today. The raid scene usually bears a pretty good load of drama on p99 - has it stopped being that way? I feel like TMO from Fennin Ro-retail has taken over? But like an update on whats going on at the top level would fill us in on "the loop." The board guild (which was fish bait, then Dark Ascension) seems to have disappeared since we last played. What about Inglorious Bastards? What happened to those guilds?
Outside of the drama from raiding - I typically enjoy just sitting in camps when it comes down to playing this game. I know what to expect when I play this, anyways.
Im sure we'll see each other on the server if you're leveling. Im also sure that some of you have already been grouping with some of the guys that started new characters, that I know.
On it sometimes, lvl 18 Barb Warrior named Woadness. Really though, it's a time filler and nostalgia trip that won't last all that long and groups are tough since only 1 or 2 zones have people in any given level range. Kind of stinks that even though 700 people might be on, 1/4 of the server population is in the EC tunnel. However, if EQClassic happens, I may end up giving it much more attention.
@Daidraco: Most of FB/DA that remain are in TMO now. Yes, they're currently running the show. IB (whatever remains of it) is over on EQMac.
My Emulauncher isnt getting any server response. Ive tried searching for the spell files manually, but Im not having any luck. Where can I manually download the required files?
I had that issue last night also. It eventually connected then didn't download any files.
You can probably skip the patcher and run the client directly. There should be directions how to do that on the P99 boards.
Still leveling slowly if anyone wants to group with an 18 Wizzy.
Anissa in game.
