This is a pretty good cosmic horror film.Black Mountain Side, on amazon prime.
Worth a watch. Had vibes of The THing, but in Canada...

Adding a couple (thanks IFC films free trial):
Kill List (2011) (English hit man with a twist)
A Dark Song (2017) (Ceremonial Magic, Alester Crowly style)
The Burrowers (2008) (19th century western horror)
All excellent (pretty sure A Dark Song was mentioned before, REALLY like this movie, this was like my 3rd watch).

Really trying to get through Kill List but I’m hating every.single.thing that Ben Wheatley is doing from a direction stand point. Now on the 3rd (?) dinner scene with what I can only assume are microphones in people’s mouths amplifying the chewing, slurping, fork on teeth clink, zoomed in close up of everyone’s face as they smack away. If the blonde wife wasn’t so fucking I woulda been out a long time ago.
haha, stick with it. Things get real and you will thank me. I don't bother mentioning movies unless I really enjoyed them.
I forgot to ad another movie recommendation, and the reason I picked up that 7 day free IFC movie sub:
The Shrine (2010)
Another one that starts slow but has big payoff towards the end. You may just do some air fist pumps last 20 mins even...
Also watched "Dead End" (2003) last night, was a thriller/black comedy and a little above average.
