You Should Have Left - 5/10 or so. Stupid name for a movie. Really weak first third both in plot and acting by Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried. Middle part gets somewhat interesting as the main plot starts moving. Falls off again a little as it relies pretty heavily on jump scares and loud noises.

Go read House of Leaves instead.

Force of Nature - 3/10. Mel Gibsons "Hurricane Heist" movie that just came out, pretty lame. I love heist movies, like Hurricane Heist or Den of Thieves but this was pretty boring. Hurricane in Puerto Rico, group of shitty thieves are gonna use the cover of the heist to do some crime in an apartment building. Mel Gibson is in the movie only for a few minutes, everyone else is a shitty actor including a terrible boring villain. The only funny part is a Checkov's gun kinda situation.

Ok I got a odd ball one for you that I enjoyed:

JUG FACE (2013)

Can call it Appalachia Horror or Hillbilly Horror. Its entertaining and kind of Lovecraftian. Worth a watch for free on Tubi.

Two Heads Creek - 6/10

It was really derivative of Hot Fuzz or any other type of film in that genre, bust mostly well done. Short run time to just have something going on in the background. Somewhat gore porn with the deaths but is to be expected in this type of movie where it is more comedic than dark and disturbing. May resonate more with Australians since it all takes place there. Couple of really funny parts. Not terrible for a waste of time fun movie, not great.

Becky - I don't know 6/10 also?. It is a movie about a 6 year old killing some nazis. Look at it as a more violent Home Alone? Over the top ridiculous and nonsensical plot with better than average acting and shooting. Takes itself pretty seriously. Oh and if you hate violence against pets avoid.

Watched American Ninja 1 - 5 and the Ninja trilogy (Enter the Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, and Ninja 3: The Domination) and am now convinced it is impossible to make a good ninja movie. Ninja 3 is funniest however Revenge is probably the best "movie".

The Vast of Night on amazon prime.
8/10. VERY solid.

1950's Switchboard operator gets odd calls, and hears and odd sound. investigates with her radio jockey boyfriend.

The whole thing is a wonderful throwback. tech, sound, dialogue nails the 50's. little action. mostly just listening to people talk over the phone..

I saw this at a drive in. Enjoyed it, though the ending was kinda weak.

This was pretty good. I'm surprised it's the director's first work going by imdb.

Black Mountain Side, on amazon prime.

Worth a watch. Had vibes of The THing, but in Canada...
watching now. its ok. 6/10 or so.

closer to The Terror, but modern archaeological dig, similar to The Thing as noted.
Weak ending I think.

what I would have liked to see for the ending was the Deer god being real, and killing them, etc to protect humanity from the alien bacteria

This is my take on that. The Deer God WAS real. It was some sort of a "elder god" from Cuthulu myths trying to keep the cuthulu bacteria shit isolated and appeared the way it did because it was use to dealing with native Americans from eons ago. Anyways, this was the theory I read online that I agree with.

Watched The Last Samurai again after not seeing it since it came out. Still a pretty decent movie. I wish there was just more to it. Ken Watanabe was awesome and poor Billy Connolly getting it right from the start.

I'd give it a 8 out ot 10. What this movie did most was make me crave a reboot of the Shogun mini-series. I loved that shit as a kid.

One of Eastwood's weaker directing efforts, but Rockwell and Bates provide their usual excellent performances.

I thought someone was pulling my leg when I saw who directed it. Direct to VHS at best.

I've liked most of Eastwood's directing, but this was pretty weak. There was some very clunky scenes, the tone and pace was off, and you could see Hamm and Wilde struggling without a good director.

It's rare that he makes a dud, much less a massive clanger like this. He gets a pass for sure, though. Million Dollar Baby is one of my favorite films.

I really liked this movie and it's message about how an honorable, brave and moral; but not very bright guy, will get eaten up by complete fucking scumbags.

This whole situation, very sadly, happens to so many well meaning & admirable people. Breaks my heart to see it. Makes me really hope there is something worthy of some of these people's compassion & trust once they leave this rock.
