Hunt for the Wilderpeople - 8/10
Watched this with some friends last night and we all thought it was pretty funny. Same writer/director as What We Do In The Shadows and the upcoming Thor movie. I love this guy and will watch anything he makes.
agree on this one and I'd give it the same rating. Taika Waititi makes some good movies. Check out Boy if you liked this one, has a similar vibe although it's built less as a comedy. He does a great job of turning something tragic into something really pretty to watch. He had a couple moments in this one where he was channeling Wes Anderson but it didn't feel overly opportunistic in the scenes where he "borrowed" some shots and they fit into the tone and pace really well, unlike...

31 - 3/10
Rob Zombie is bad at this and he should feel bad. IMDB write-up had some grandiose underlying plot that seems like it would have added a lot to what this ended up being. Torture porn but without the entertainment factor that The Devil's Rejects brought out of his House of 1000 Corpses story chain. This feels unfinished, pacing is all over the place and it probably could have been saved with a huge tone shift by having his wife not keep playing the same role over and over again. I was hesitant but excited to see this one as I was underwhelmed but really surprised by Lords of Salem and really thought he was going to start heading a different direction and do some Kubrickesque horror in the future. This one, right back to not as good as square one and he pulled out a crane + rotation, downward shot in that one for absolutely no reason.

Green Room - 8/10
This guy definitely has a style and he's been completely on point with his last two films. They straddle the line between revenge flick and crime drama and he does both aspects incredibly well. Only reason this is 8/10 is because it missed a few steps that Blue Ruin got perfect but it's still an amazing film

Caught a couple of homages to Jaws 1 & 2. Other than that, it was just ok.

47 Ronin. I originally skipped it because of the weird press it got and mixed reviews from here, but i enjoyed it far more than I know i should have

The Infiltrator - 8/10 -
Brian Cranston needs to be careful in taking anymore roles involving drugs or he is going to typecast himself.

the overall plot and the setting wasn't anything special and flat out boring, but it was really colourful movie. bad CGI though...

It was ok at best, the ending was really bad. I would give it a 5/10

After watching Narcos, even Brian Cranston can't earn more than a 6 with this movie.

The Legend of Tarzan 6/10 it's Tarzan so it is what it is but the action and scenery was pretty good Samuel Jackson trying to keep up with the natives was awesome.
Gods of Egypt 3/10 all CGI no story
Super 8 8/10 I really enjoyed it brought back memories of The Goonies for me
Boondock Saints 9/10 can't believe it took me so long to watch this movie. the sequel more of a 6/10
Let the Right One In 8/10 (it's in Russian with subtitles) Very good movie glad I saw this version before the American remake which was OK but not as good.
Special 8/10 low budget indie and I could absolutely see someone else hating this movie but I thought it was great. Hope a couple of you guys give it a go and let me know what you think.

Just saw Appaloosa for the first time. It was a very interesting and different western. It starts out fairly standard then starts going off the well worn path. Has a great cast and wonderful performances. Ed Harris directs and its beautifully shot. This is not an action western . There are no large explosions and 10 minute gun fights. There is violence and gun play but it's much more realistic. My only complaint is I thought Renee was a bit miscast but it also kind of works since I didn't find her very likable despite being very interesting and a different type of western film woman.

I highly enjoyed the movie and if you are a western fan or just enjoy beautiful movies check it out just know what to expect.

Jack Reacher never go back 6.5/10. Could of been better good god was the "IM A STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN AND DO NOT NEED NO MAN" vibe was almost unbearable.
