The new Spawn building is in place. Please have patience while I get the armor and weapon kits for sale. Prices have changed on some items and enchants.

I've looking into a mod that will allow stats increases on armor. This may allow a more dynamic pvp environment.

I'm no PVP expert but as it is it is literally impossible for anyone to kill me while I have my good armor on unless I let them. Sutekh and I had a go at it the other day and it was kinda stupid. If you locked us in a room together no one would be victorious until the loser's armor literally broke. I tried the strategy of digging under sutekh where I knew there was a chasm directly beneath but that was a little silly and probably wouldn't have killed him either.

Right now there's kind of a weird problem where the difference in power between the armor I wear while adventuring/pvping and the armor I wear when building our magnificently large church is huge.

I don't really think it's a problem that needs to be solved. PVP is sort of fun but the base mechanics aren't very compelling and it isn't a huge selling point. Combine that with it being a nightmare for your armor's durability and there's just no value in improving PVP.

Now if you made it so that players couldn't damage your armor's durability I might be more interested in it.

Many of this have said it before: I wish MC took the Terraria armor/weapon/tools approach.

High tier armor is quite challenging to craft, but once you craft it, you never lose it and it doesn't break.

Repairs cost should be strictly diamond based, not xp based imo.

Too often do I find myself mining for xp and mats just to fix my enchanted tools that I broke from mining for xp and mats.

Yeah, I like the diamond-based approach. I feel the 200.00 repair cost in the spawn building is just a bit too steep. Maybe 150.00ish.

That I can certainly agree with. Not sure if its server specific, or just how the game in general is, but it's a little overturned IMO when trying to get Xp for enchanting.

Pretty sure a maxed out sword (sharp 5, fire etc..) will damage health even if you have the best armor on. I never managed to kill Sutekh when he attacked us at the church but I did see his health go down when hit. Maybe it was from the falls? But I think my armor is maxed out too and I did get damaged a couple times.

I think the problem is when add alchemy/apples that heal and regenerate health much faster than you can damage it.

You can't be invulnerable to damage, but you can easily out-regen whatever damage you take. And with the way the game works it's very difficult to damage someone when they aren't engaging you. I think the armor cap is something like 96% damage reduction, lol.

the funny part about our fight is, even if the floor were destroyed below me, and I fell in to the lava. I wouldn't have even died then -.-.

the PVP is extremely bad, but I have a nagging feeling that the game might not have been designed for that.

Yeah, the combat is terrible all around in this game.

I will be able to adjust damage on Swords and Bows. Also there is a magic mod which can have adjustable damage.

I think most would agree that any change to PvP is a good change.

Is there currently a maximum number of enchants possible on one item with the enchant shop? The shop allows you to add everything on any item. Unbreaking, protections (x3), thorns, respiration, aqua is on my helm atm. Limiting it to 1-2 enchants per item might work for your purpose as well.

You could but with 2 enchants you can still easily hit the armor cap from all sources, just repairing it would be more frequent due to no unbreakable3. With 1 enchant you'd get the armor cap from physical damage, which is where almost all the pvp damage comes from.

Really the solution to combat in the game is half the EPF type modifiers and half the enchantment cap. This would bring the max damage reduction from 88-96% range (It's random) to 84-88%.

Ya I do not like the ability to just buy any enchant being available at all, but once you allow it, its hard to turn it off.

The fact that the best armor actually negates PvP but cost money to repair is actually good design, especially in a game like minecraft.

A personal opinion I hope nobody will take the wrong way - I feel like there is too much available for purchase/sell at spawn. All the armor sets and potions for example. There are several very easily exploitable deals atm too.

I do like being able to sell blocks for $ and turn that into other blocks. That alone allowed me to build my mill - I would never have farmed for some of the mats otherwise. I don't like shearing 2000 sheep just to build something that looks the way I want. And I don't want to play in creative either. So the economy mod has been freaking awesome. I just feel like it's a bit too much right now.
