Well there are three ways to consider for the inside. The first is to try and make it to scale on the inside as much as the outside. This would mean that the middle section that is only one floor would need to be rather basic as far as the ceiling went. Or.. you could go ahead and kinda divide it into an upper section and a lower, but that would not give you much room to work with. The third is to move part of the ceiling up some. On the original pic I showed, there is a roofed almost 2nd floor above the center line. That could incorporate something like this picture
I think we need to get the half roof sections (the 29 wood blocks on either side that I started) put in place to give us a little bit better idea of how much room we have to work with first.
The back section that has not been worked on yet is going to be kind of either an altar or podium that has a glass dome over the roof. I am not sure if I want the glass to come all the way down along the walls to the ground or just be over the ceiling.

So for now, we have 4 goals (in no particular order): Finish the floor so we can get rid of all these darn trees lol, finish the two 29 block half ceilings in the middle section, and finish that northwest tower walls and towers so we can see how the tower spikes will look once installed. Lastly, finish all remaining first floor window wall sections. We cannot put the roof on yet as I am not sure how dark it will get inside the building if we do.

When we gave MSG an overhaul on creative, it was fine to cover the ceiling, but I did leave a spot open with glass every 10 blocks or so and sunlight did well at lighting it. If that's not desired, maybe it'll be a good idea to go with incorporating glow stones into the design, which are always a joy to get (unless we can buy them at spawn).

Apostle, I like keeping the inside basic structurally, I'd really hate to divide up the inside because then you lose how massive it is when you're inside it.
As for light, I think we're going to need to line the place with torches. I have quite a bit of glowstone too that we can use, but glowstone is really ugly. I've always thought we could make some chandeliers but I don't know if a giant hanging chandelier that's in the middle of the room would even light up any of the ceiling/floor/walls.

Here is what I have never understood... what difference does it make in a game like this playing with people you know with how much money someone has? I mean seriously? I could give a shit less that Azz has 100,000,000 million dollars and I only have 5000. There is nothing that effects me cause we all really don't pvp. we just talk shit and smack each other and move on. I could see if we were all at war and it gave someone else an unfair advantage but the bottom line is we are all just here to play and have fun... who cares what someone else has?
