Why? It sucks!

A game sucking is not, in and of itself, a good enough reason for me not to want it.

Having said that, here are some of Knuckle's Chaotix's qualities:
- Some ridiculously vibrant and colorful graphics.
- Levels that change color as the (in-game) time of day changes.
- Fun bonus levels. (Possibly more fun than any Sonic Bonus Levels)
- They genuinely tried to do something different with the platforming genre. You could argue that being perpetually tethered to a second character is awkward and annoying, but I'd rather they try something different and fail than give us what we'd already seen a hundred times before. Besides, while it does take some getting used to, you CAN get used to it. It's not a "broken" game by any means.
- Great soundtrack, rivaling some of Sonic's best.
- Some fun characters. (I liked Vector the Crocodile's design)
- It's rare, and therefore desirable to me.

I had it for a while. I sold it when I got a N64. I remember it being pretty hard. The difficulty was probably just from how young I was though.

That's not emblematic at all considering Prince of Persia was an American game first and that SNES art is the same art used for the Apple IIe box. The Japanese version is the redrawn one.
You have a semi point. Only semi, because the original Apple II art was that:

It has a pretty good "classic movie poster" vibe going on, but there was a DOS version that used this:

It actually works not that badly because of the contrast between the stylized background and spikes and the detailed character and it is indeed what got used for the SNES version, but the composition got crushed in the process, killing the contrast.

Only semi because, in the end, the problem remains: when it was time to make a cover for the SNES game they had a neat original cover, a brilliant japanese cover and an ok alternate US cover to chose from and decided to go with a terrible modified version of the alternate cover. It should be said though that Nintendo of America with its cover design template that eats a third of the real estate with black and bullshit basically made sure all SNES covers would be garbage

I always thought the prince on the Apple II art was the spitting image of Cory Feldman.

Hey, to each their own I guess. That being said, game still sucks! I'll take Sonic CD over this piece of crap any day!

Wasn't Dragon Warrior the one game you had to hold reset before you turned off the power to correctly save your game, Zelda too? I made that mistake a few times, and as a young boy its a horrible nightmare.

They suggested you do that. I don't think I used to do that and I never had any batteries get deleted. I remember getting Dragon Warrior for free with Nintendo Power or some promotion, I think.
