The deletion thing will undoubtedly fuck up the code somewhat and cause them crunch time to get shit together for show/expo/deal X. Then there'll be the Richard as leader of the company drama. Will Monica betray Raviga and vote with PP drama. Should be a fun season.
Hey, it's as if you actually watched the show!

I could also see some funny situations with the question of will they stay in Erlich's house, and to what capacity. Maybe Erlich starting to code is the door they open to getting out of his house but still keeping the character prominent. I could see this crew being hilarious actually having to go to the office every day for work.

My only doubts about the show is where they're going with Big Head, and whether they should bother.

Bighead is funny because it's a spot any tech guy has found himself in. Totally coasting at a job where they give you nothing to do, so you kind of invent your own fun shit to do. My thought is he will be instantly fired when Gavin realizes the whole "founded pied piper" thing isn't going to take off.

Well his contract is probably not valid like most everyone else's over there but Gavin looks like he's going to get removed himself. Or in a strange twist maybe his is one of the few that actually is a valid contract and they can't get rid of him even after Gavin is gone.

Gavin is out. The guru attaching himself to bighead is an indication that bighead will continue to fall upwards, not down.

If anything, I see them setting up a scenario where Bighead is promoted even further. It's the only way they can go with that, really. The situation described of the guy coasting and being praise for it is real, but not all that funny. To be funny they'll have to push it to the extreme and keep promoting him?

Its going to be interesting how they keep promoting him. Everything he had was tied to Gavin. With Gavin on the way out how or why he keeps moving up should be somewhat funny.

And can't have much sympathy for Gavin, although he's a dick even when he does get removed from Hooli he's still a multi-billionaire.

They already started it, everyone at Hooli thinks he is shit hot because of all the promotions and "boards" he is on. Then he gets the guru and whatever other hangers-on. Gavin is done.

Lawyer was awesome. Russ was awesome. Didn't end on the same high note as last season, and that's obviously intended, but I'd rather have gone out on a high. Fucking Gavin over and winning the lawsuit were great, but tarnished by the Raviga shit.

Now that Gavin and Richard are both fired, maybe the'll work together next season.

Hooli, one of the world's largest companies with nearly unlimited resources in this show, couldn't even do that. Raviga knows this. The head of Raviga has been written as some monotone binary thinker who is completely risk averse and she knows that. The writing that's led up to this doesn't dictate that kind of rash decision making.

And wormie, the algorithm is not the valuable property. You do not understand software at all, you think this is some kind of patent that is done and finished. One person who doesn't understand his code could make a seemingly innocuous change and completely fuck the performance of the entire platform, and then not understand how to fix it. In fact they had an episode revolve around just that. Remember the "hacker" kid? Firing the world's leading expert on this particular kind of software in favor of hoping to find someone who might be able to maintain it and hopefully make it scalable is something that you just wouldn't do unless you were short sighted and had no interest building it up.

That would make sense if her move was to immediately sell the company, but she stated to Monica, in this very episode, she thought Richard was being short sighted and they could find many more applications for the software, yet she's being shortsighted by ousting the expert before it's even done.
I dont think you understand what the show is claiming Richard achieved. Whatever magical algorithm he came up with has to do with compression. Which means Richard figured out some way to manipulate a mathematical structure that has not been thought of before. This algorithm is something that no one has access to and as such is similar to situations with patents. You also keep saying that its the software that matters yet the software only executes whatever Richard came up with and there are plenty of people that can code it as well as any of the guys on the show. You think all the people that invested into PP did so because Richard is there or because the algorithm is magical? The algorithm is the valuable property, Richard is not. And since Raviga has watched their investment almost go up in smoke time and time again, they did the only reasonable thing and removed the person in charge. They dont need Richard to create the software around the algorithm because the algorithm and all explanations and documentation of how it functions is property of PP.

This season was pretty fun, the porn deletion was almost offensively stupid though. Security doesn't work like that, networking doesn't work like that, FTP doesn't work like that, and what's worst, the motherfucking delete key doesn't work like that. A low point for the series IMO ;p

Richard may go work for Bighead at Hooli, and compete against Pied Piper until he can win his company back.

I don't see him sharing his expertise with anyone that could challenge PP. He's still the creator and priority shareholder. He could try to have another investor come in and get him more board seats, but I think the likely play here will be that the Raviga CEO will shit the bed.

Honestly, I think Richard isn't fit for the CEO. I mean everything he's accomplished has more or less been dumb luck or Erlich magicz. I think as long as he's VP or whatever title it'd be fine. Hopefully the new CEO would be a flexible person though and we don't have another straight-man trying to stop all their shenanigans.

Really sucks all the shows on HBO are over, overall I think season 2 was better just because season 1 took a minute to get into its grove. Also characters like Russ and the Lawyer were great additions.

Hopefully Reviga chick Laurie ? is replaced next season

I like to imagine them holding fixing their glasses and starting the post with "Weeellll, I've spent a little time working with coding and I think that scene was wrong BECAUSE....." Like 50 nerds lining up to post that. I'm going to post every time a show/movie has a bald eagle's scream and go "Welllllll, I'm a biologist and actually that's a red tailed hawk! You see, bald eagles really sound like...."
