Correct, they are in the range of 1700 and 2100 if I remember correctly so it doesn't really penetrate buildings very well. (lower frequency the better, for example Verizon uses 700 for heavy urban areas and Sprints old iDen 800 frequency will be theirs when Spark rolls out)
Alright, T-Mobile's out then. My apartment building is from the 50s and it's built like a goddamn air raid bunker.

You can even search on their website which phones they offer that have WiFi calling.

I'm in a 100 year old stone apartment in Chicago and Tmobil works fine everywhere, even the basement.

ROFL, ever tried swiping instead of typing...yeah didn't think so
Hey asshole, quit assuming anything trying to be the internet hero. I've used every version of swype since it's first beta and swift key flow as well. I prefer typing, hence why swift key was my keyboard of choice. I still prefer iPhones keyboard to swift key.

I agree with you Tarrant that it does get a little creepy but for me it was easier to just type it out and let it correct typos than pay attention to the default +2 words it was giving as options. It's predictions really didn't work out so well for me unless I was giving someone my address. About the only time consistently that I could use it's predictions.

I have pretty huge hands and was worried at first about the iPhone keyboard but those fears dissipated after the first day and I felt like I was on speed when texting it was going so fast, and accurate.

One thing the iPhone auto correct does, that android does not do, is it will auto correct not just a single word but how that word works in a sentence. So where as in android it may auto correct a word, it won't make any sense in the sentence I was typing. iPhone reads back a few words at least and will auto correct to what makes sense if there are multiple options. This usually happens for smaller words where my fat hands made mistakes so bad it's not clear what word I was actually trying to type. I'm doing a horrible job at explaining it, but I hope my point comes across.

Tmobile has spotty coverage in my office but great everywhere else in my area, and office has wifi so it's not actually even an issue.

The 4.3 update did something hinky to my samsung keyboard for formatting and autocorrect, while swype hasn't changed much since beta so that's my new default.

Any of you using Viper4Android on your phones? If not and you're into music from your phone, I highly recommend it! I'll link the thread for the main program, but there are other threads for profiles(or just make your own), Impulse Response Samples, etc. I started using it on my G2 and the difference in sound even on cheap headphones is pretty amazing.

If you're a music fan, why would you use an EQ app that essentially changes how it sounds? This is like using bass boost on your Beats by Dre?

You guys see the new permissions on Facebook mobile are to allow it to read your texts? Pretty crazy.
Yeah, even though FB claims its purely just to read authorization codes for retrieving your account or some crap like that, I don't like it. I deleted the FB app off my phone. That's unacceptable, especially since the terms in the app say nothing of that sort, it's just a vague "we can read your texts" statement.

I ordered an LG G2 last night. I looked hard at the Note 3 but I wasn't sure I wanted to go that big and it was $200 more on contract. I also wanted to go away from Samsung after my Galaxy Nexus being a big piece of shit. I would have liked to see the HTC One 2 but I couldn't wait 2 months just to find out if it was cool or not. Also looked at the Moto X because of the near-stock android but battery life was my top priority and I didn't feel confident that it was going to get me through the day with no chance of going dead and that is really what I want.

Looking forward to the better camera and battery life. Not looking forward to the LG skin but if it's too shitty I will just get a launcher. Not sure about the back buttons but I'm assuming I will get used to it.

I was using App Ops or whatever and still don't see Facebook listed under SMS privileges. Never use the app so maybe that is why, although things like Gallery and Music have access to SMS and it says Last Used Never.

Facebook Android app has been a steaming pile of shit forever now anyways. I have always just used my browser to access Facebook to fuel my narcissism on the road.

Not surprising. Google never wanted to be a hardware company, they just needed the patents to get Apple off their nut sacks. Lenovo will probably do more with Motorola than Google ever would have.

So rumor is that Google is ending the Nexus line of phones in 2015 in favor of having manufactures provide Play additions of their phones. Theory is that manufactures weren't happy having their Play additions compete against the lower price-point of the Nexus devices.
