Lol, whoa... guess I never thought any of that to be all that annoying that I needed to change it. Will look into them though.
Having used Android so much, I just grew to appreciate the little things that made life easier. The Google Experience Launcher that allows you to swipe left from the homescreen to get to Google Now is a prime example of "Wow, that's fucking fantastic" since it gives me my time home, or to the gym, depending on what day of the week it is and my past habits.

Shows that I've searched for will have playing times, so I can remind myself to pick them up that evening or the next day. It really is the little things that have grown on me.

HTC One M8 is currently the best phone you can buy imho. It's also absolutely gorgeous. As far as longevity? Its predecessor, the M7, is still one of the best phones you can buy.
Yep it sure is, handled one tonight at the VZW store (although not getting one with VZW) definitely want one - just gotta decide what carrier if Sprint doesn't come around on honoring a misstatement their rep apparently had made to me. (Wife and I switched to framily with her parents - while on the phone to set it up I made damn sure eligibility for ANY of the options wouldn't go away, and he made it clear that all options would still be available plus an additional one with the $20/mo extra for extra data if you're doing that Easy Pay scam shit - now they're trying to claim that Easy Pay scam shit is the only option, which I'm willing to believe but the rep before lied to us... so they're expecting me to be happy paying $1200 for the phones vs. $400 we were promised which is complete fucking horseshit, I've got the money - but fuck flushing two PS4's worth of cash that we were promised wasn't necessary. Only thing they're willing to do is reprimand the employee, ZERO meeting me in the middle, in fact most of their options they gave would cost substantially more [One option they gave was $1440 more over the term to save the $800, a loss of $640 and the woman seemed confused why I was perturbed...])

Well, I guess there's no real "deciding" to do, AT&T sucks, VZW is a ripoff - so I guess I'll be looking at T-Mo. But fuck man, I actually liked Sprint - even after they lied to us about the wife's eligibility last time. [When we switched to a family plan for everyone pre-framily we went in to upgrade her when hers was due and they said she wasn't eligible until they same time as me, then when we start gearing up for the 2 year mark for upgrades we find out she could've upgraded all the way back then and they lied to us before...]

I read your PM's and Easy Pay isn't a scam at all, it's a model you're going to see literally every single carrier go to within a year or two. Carriers are losing money on phone subsidies and easy pay allows them to not be in that position. Also you aren't paying the full price of the phone up front, also you get upgrades every year instead of two and you owe nothing if you still have a balance on your previous easy pay device....oh and no contract.

Anyways....

As a consumer it's easy to hold a company accountable for a bad rep but it's not realistic, at least not in the cellular business. Our guidelines and ability to discount is severely limited, even some of the highest level center supervisors don't have the ability to much more that a $50 credit without it taking weeks to clear from people who's pay grade is quadruple their own. If a rep was wrong in something one of two reasons were behind it, either they purposely told you the wrong thing which isn't likely, or they made a mistake. Now depending on which department you talked to and which rep told you this, if they told you that this rep was going to be reprimanded and you really went into it as deep as you did, that rep is no longer with Sprint. I'm not telling you this for any other reason then to let you know they take that stuff very seriously and they will not be liable for bad reps misrepresenting their brand. I'll assume it was a corporate rep you talked to, if it was a preferred retailer then they'll probably still be around, a corporate one though? They're gone so telling them what a rep told you at this point wont mater because that rep is no longer there.

That being said, there are two upgrades available, Sprint, for the moment still does two year upgrades. If you were at or beyond your 20 month mark since you previously signed a contract then you're fine and you can upgrade under the two year model. Honestly though, their Framily Plan is the better route and that's not just Sprint jargon or a lie, it literally is the better deal with an easy to to lower your bill to $45 a month with unlimited data per line. All you literally do is put your code on facebook or craigslist and you start saving pretty quickly.

Anyways, I'd need to take a look into your account to let you know if you qualify for a 2 year contract upgrade. Some corporate doors are in fact walking new lines and upgrades because Sprint corporate is really ramming home the need to sell framily because again, it's going to be the only thing available in the future. T-Mobile is already there, we're going there and you're going to see ATT and VZW go that route eventually as well.

If you want to PM me some info I can look for you tomorrow. I'll need your name, phone number and pin number or answer to your secret question. I'll see what I can do for you.

Comparatively speaking vs subsidized, yea it is. And just burnt up over no middle ground, I've been CS or CS adjacent almost all of my working years - not one case can I recall a "Oh they misinformed you? Too bad" that I basically got when you parse it down to the meat of it.

Hell, my brother as a dealership manager would write off $600 upgrades that were mistakenly added or omitted by a salesman. Newegg replaced a $350 monitor that broke during handling with a $650 one since they cheaper was going to take a while to restock. Etc.

Sometimes a loss for goodwill to meet a middle ground makes sense. Shit, I'd have been happy hearing something like "can't do that but can finance you for $5/mo less to make up for it" a small $120 sign of goodwill against the extra $450 per line I was bowled over by.

And yes it was a corporate guy. Not worried enough about it to PM data that could prove bad if another Tyenish thing occurs, probably still stick with the EasyPay garbage with them, but definitely posses over literally the second worst CS experience of my life to date.

At least they never tried to claim I was a liar, that's the only pro to the entire exchange.

I do plan to BBB it though, although the value in that is limited.

Little more complicated than that, universal remote is cool, the dotview case is incredible, battery is longer, better looks as well, and Google Play edition already on the table.

Also camera is getting varying reports depending on the reviewer.

I get that, but Samsung had universal remote in the previous version of the phone, works just as well I would assume. The S5 has a longer lasting battery with ultra power saving mode about 24 hours on standby per 10 of original battery. Cite better looks but admit everyone throws a case on it. The S5's camera is 16 MP with a larger sensor, has phase detection, the ability to change photo with different shooting modes after the picture is taken, .3 second auto focus, aka 0 bad reviews.

Reviews have quoted getting 2 days of actual use out of the M8 is doable. Don't think galaxy had IR blasters for full universal did it? DOF/2 cameras makes it a little harder to compare the camera nonfirsthand - the shots I tested it with in store were gorgeous, but not messed with S5 to compare.

On case something I was reading re: the dotview case quoted 90% of users DON'T use cases FWIW. I never have before I get my M8.

Yeah the S4 and their tablet line has / had IR blasters.

"HTC's design head Scott Croyle told me as many as90 percent of people put a case on their phone, and while that seems like kind of a waste of the One, at least HTC made a case worthy of the device."

Samsung Galaxy S4 doubles as a smart TV remote, with built-in IR blaster and 'WatchOn' software -- Headline from same website.

Whoops got it backwards I guess. And on "liking" Sprint, I don't get dropped calls like AT&T and VZW used to in my travel areas. Never tried TMo though.

Does anyone actually use the IR blaster on their phone? I never did. I could pick up my phone, unlock it, find the IR app, run it, look at the screen, find the buttons I want, and tap it. Or, I could pick up my remote control, find the button I want without looking, press button. Done.

Remote functions on phone with proper app support are awesome without it, with should be better with more devices. (I.e. TiVo app)

No, it's really not. I mean unless you want bills to go up and unlimited data to go away then SURE!!!

Also, again, cheaper in the long run when you go at it right and much more flexible, ridiculously flexible actually.

No unlimited data they'd offered me with framily, lost it with the switch in fact. But yea if you're not doing 2 yr upgrades or a 7+ framily it could work out ok. As my plan stands right now doing the upgrade will cost me $12/mo more to save $200 over the term. $69/yr more after factoring out downpayment. And with limited data, but minutes went from 1500 to unlimited, not that I ever needed 1500.

I'm quite capable of seeing the math is unfavorable for my situation as I do like to upgrade every 2 years or so and my framily is partial.

Half of what you just described is incorrect information however if you want to think all of what you just said then that's fine. It's unfortunate because the training on the program has been bad and they've changed things on it every week including free phones, taking care of down-payment and paying certain fees, free gift cards and so on and so forth.

Like I said, I'm willing to help you out, I've done so for multiple others both for sprint and when I worked at century link (on this forum I mean) but if you don't want my help that's fine too. - shrug-

This. Smartphone as a remote is a terrible idea and everyone realizes it the first time they try to actually use it.

I'll accept your help Tarrant just worried about a repeat of Tyen stuff again z especially since I can't see where I'm missing something. Seemed all risk if Tyen or another hacker struck with no potential upside, you seem to think there's room to improve I and the other Sprint agents overlooked so the gamble no longer looks one-sided.

I only used it to screw with my wife from the other room while she was watching TV
Eh? IR doesn't operate through walls does it? Got a odd pass through window between them or something, or am I wrong to think walls block?
