T-mobile just announced that you can try an iPhone 5s on their network for free for 7 days. Also, music streaming no longer counts against your data cap.

They need to give that thing away and get the cost down to the consumer as much as possible to drive their eco system. Ridiculous offering.

It's why they can sell their tablets at rock bottom prices. They can't do this with their phone for some reason? It's a serious misstep by Amazon I believe. The entire AT&T exclusive reeks of them thinking they can be like Apple. They are in for a shock.
Have you looked at their tablet pricing lately? They are most definitely trying to be Apple 2.0, the pricing of their high-end Kindle Fires is absolutely absurd. Their 9" Kindle Fire HDX is $430. They're definitely trying to price their products more like iPads than typical Android tablets. Which is extra ridiculous when you consider that you're limited to their proprietary ecosystem and you don't even get a full Android experience.

I love Amazon, I buy tons of shit from them, but I absolutely hate the direction they are going with their own tech products.

The high price and limited android ecosystem make this a tough sell. I already have AT&T, but I'll most likely be going to the iPhone 6.

Unless the Note 4 gets absolutely horseshit reviews I'll be replacing my HTC M8 with it.
You might look at the LG G3. 2560x1440 5.5 inch screen compared to the 1920x1080 5.7 inch Note 3 screen. No clue what the specs are going to be on the Note 4, but I can't see the screen getting much bigger, they might just go better resolution and stay the same size as the Note 3. In that case, the G3 is a very similar device to consider.

My 3rd LG G2 is supposed to arrive today. The headphone jack on the first one went bad within 2 months. On the second one the GPS never worked, after 2.5 months a half inch strip across the top of the touchscreen stopped working, and then the headphone jack started to go bad. Yesterday morning the stip of touchscreen that didn't work started working all on it's own as if someone was quickly tapping all over that section of the screen. Apps opening 4 times a second, the screen flipping all over the place, google searches starting on their own, etc. It stops after a while but while that is going on the phone is unusable.

The lady in level 2 tech support was really nice so I asked her if I could get a different model phone and she said they used to have some ability to do stuff like that but people were using it to get free upgrades and they gave too many out so Verizon cracked down on it and they can't do that at all anymore unless the model you have is not available. She said that if the 3rd one craps out it might be worth trying to go to LG with it and maybe they would take pity on you and send you a different model. I'm just hoping #3 actually doesn't suck because it is a great phone when it works.

I laughed pretty hard when I saw the Amazon fire is $650 off contract. The only people I can see this being worthwhile for are those who have a older phone and no amazon prime.

I avoid LG.

If the Note 4 isn't up to specs I'll wait for the Galaxy 6 or whatever the hell they'll call it.

If that isn't good enough I'll check out HTC's offering

If that isn't good enough I'd grab the newest nexus

If that isn't good enough I'd go back to an Iphone.

LG isn't even on the long list.

Yup I know all about the LG G3. I want to see the Note 4 before I make the switch. The Note 4 will also have the same resolution and a minimum of a 5.7 inch screen size (some people think 5.9, but it certainly won't go down from 5.7). The specs should be top of the line as usual.

We'll see what happens but it seems like the Note 4 is shaping up to be pretty amazing as well.

I do love my Note 3, best phone I've ever owned(even though I pretty much never use the stylus for writing, I just bought it for the size really)

Well I went to LG due to my Samsung Galaxy Nexus being a piece of shit that I also had to have replaced twice. I guess I'm going HTC next time but unfortunately that is a year and a half away. I don't think that I am particularly hard on my phones but I can't seem to get one to last a year. If my third GNex hadn't been dying a quick death at the time my upgrade came up I would have waited a couple months for the HTC One M8 but that wasn't really an option at the time because my phone wasn't going to last another two months.

Just a random stab in the dark here, but do you use the new charger that comes with each phone, or do you have an old charger that you've used across all your phones by your bedside or something? Only reason I ask, is my wife had a cheap offbrand charger up until about a year ago, and it caused several of her phones to get weird electrical issues, speakers going bad, buttons malfunctioning, etc. I guess the shoddy charger was shorting out her phones eventually. Once we actually swapped it out with a new charger from her last new phone, everything as been great.

I went through a phase with the shitty monoprice chargers but I don't use them anymore. I actually blamed them for one of the times my GNex died but then I used a name brand charger and the same thing happened to the next phone. The ones I use now either say Samsung, Amazon (came with my kindle) or LG on them.

Just bought my first smartphone (all others i've had have been company given). I went for the Nokia 1320 in the end, as i wanted a a big phone, as my usage would generally be calls, emails, netflix and ebooks and i have to say I'm completely impressed. The battery life is utterly amazing. Was at 90% charge last night, i've made just over an hour worth of calls, just under an hour of plants vs zombies, watched an episode of Top Gear, it's had a constant 3G/4G connection and the wireless has been on constantly - and I'm at 51% battery as of now (11PM) - so over a day of decent usage and it's lost less than 40% battery.

It's my first Windows phone - previously had a blackberry and then a few Andriods - and with this one, I actually enjoy using it. The Appstore isn't massive, but it has most of the apps i want. The gaming choice is slightly weak, but it's never been my main reason to use a phone anyways. Credit has to be given to the screen as well. It's only a 720p display, but it's clear and bright. Was using it on the train with the sun streaming in, and i had no trouble viewing the display. Camera is rather average though (however, i'm not a massive photo person, so that's not a problem for me).

Website reviews have been rather against it, but i'm not sure why to be honest. I'd of loved to have bought the 1520 but i just couldn't of justified the price for what I'd be using it for.

Also, lastly, it's just refeshing having a different UI compared to static rows of icons in a grid - sounds weak i know, but the whole phone is just refreshing to use.
