Lmao poor CM Punk mark, he sucks and this just proves it

Im a mark because I don’t applaud people being injured?

I can name number of wrestlers who had to give up titles after they were awarded them, doesn’t mean they suck.

I’m not even a huge Punk fan, but I respect what they do in the ring and don’t like seeing anyone get hurt. I mean, why he a dick over something like that?

Don't get it twisted, i dont like injuries either. He's sloppy as fuck and clearly got pushed too quickly because tony khan is actually just a nostalgia mark and bad booker. He hasn't had a clean match since returning to wrestling and it would be absurd to say he has.

Almost all of his matches have been spots or homages to past WWE legends, it's dumb.

I’d call Kahn a lot of things but bad booker wouldn’t be on that list. Not yet anyway. A lot of money to be made in Punk, no blame in him trying to capitalize on that.

same reason Vince shoved Roman down our throats for years and resulted in two wrestlemania L’s in a row fading to black to their main baby face being boo’ed.

Same thing here, except almost no one boos Punk.

they’ll have a tourney for the belt and all will be well. Or who knows maybe it’s a work and MJF comes from no where and takes the title to lead to those two having reason to feud again.

Either way, their product is fine currently and this won’t alter that.

Neatest solution would be Jericho winning the Battle Royale to build him back up as a singles competitor, then either Jericho or Moxley beating Tanahashi.

Jericho/Moxley are feuding anyway, they are both former champs, Jericho has faced Tanahashi before and Moxley is actively being booked for NJPW.

Only other option is Daniel Bryan which gives a Bryan vs Moxley rematch and Bryans dream of being part of NJPW.

They can't just have Warlow or MJF win and beat someone like Tanahashi and the whole reason for an interim champ is to preserve that championship match vs Tanahashi.

Sammy and Tay are getting married! lol

Oh no.

We saw what happened last time he did this.

Ya know, I'm actually enjoying this duo now. Them furiously making out in the background while Kazarian cut an angry promo to the camera was fucking hilarious. Tay looked incredible at the PPV. I just wish they'd straighten out WTF their alignment is supposed to be. Tay is absolutely killing it as a heel and Sammy should go the same route definitively instead of waffling around. Hell, Tay is killing it so hard as a heel that I think she should be the one to beat Thunder Rosa for the title.

Speaking of Thunder, what's with AEW doing such a shitty job showcasing champions not named Jade? Hangman and Rosa were both feeling directionless for like all of March and April, and Rosa still is.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CM PUNK LIVES UP TO ALL EXPECTATIONS, WHAT A 6 DAY REIGN

I'm actually physically depressed about this. Talk about horrible timing. Though I like that they aren't vacating the title (something that killed the WCW title dead after it happened multiple times). Instead they're doing the interim thing like UFC. That keeps Punk relevant while he's on the shelf, while also giving us a new champ with the promise of a unification match, thus avoiding the WCW-esque "previous champion never passes the torch" problems.

I was thinking Omega would be the perfect interim champion. He could get his win back on Tanahashi, feud with Cole, and Punk/Omega is a dream match of sorts. However as far as I know he's still very unavailable and almost definitely won't be back in 2022. It's too early for Miro, and when he gets a run he should be the unstoppable focal point of the company (there's too much else going on right now). Same exact thing goes for Wardlow. Which pretty much leaves Moxley. From what I understand he was originally planned to face Tanahashi at Forbidden Door before they decided to move Tana to fighting the AEW champion instead.

Moxley also really deserves a second title run with actual crowds this time, and I think this is a good way to slot that in without really disrupting overall plans.

THe Tanahashi part is what makes this tough. You are limited to Bryan and Mox - Omega wont be healthy yet. THe plan was certainly Punk over Tana, and Okada over Danielson.

Jericho is too far gone for a long solo banger with Tana or Okada. Its why hes been in faction warfare for 2 years. Help cover his age.

Punk took 7 years off, is in his mid 40s and is trying to wrestle like he did 15 years ago; Injury was bound to happen. Thought they are saying it likely happened diving into the crowd. What a stupid mistake.

The funny thing is when he jumped into the crowd on Wednesday, I was thinking this is how he is going to get injured. It's always the stupid shit like that. lol
