Sammy and Tay are getting married! lol
AEW star Sammy Guevara just proposed to his GF, fellow pro wrestling star Tay Conti, at the Eiffel Tower.

Oh no.
We saw what happened last time he did this.
Ya know, I'm actually enjoying this duo now. Them furiously making out in the background while Kazarian cut an angry promo to the camera was fucking hilarious. Tay looked incredible at the PPV. I just wish they'd straighten out WTF their alignment is supposed to be. Tay is absolutely killing it as a heel and Sammy should go the same route definitively instead of waffling around. Hell, Tay is killing it so hard as a heel that I think she should be the one to beat Thunder Rosa for the title.
Speaking of Thunder, what's with AEW doing such a shitty job showcasing champions not named Jade? Hangman and Rosa were both feeling directionless for like all of March and April, and Rosa still is.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CM PUNK LIVES UP TO ALL EXPECTATIONS, WHAT A 6 DAY REIGN
I'm actually physically depressed about this. Talk about horrible timing. Though I like that they aren't vacating the title (something that killed the WCW title dead after it happened multiple times). Instead they're doing the interim thing like UFC. That keeps Punk relevant while he's on the shelf, while also giving us a new champ with the promise of a unification match, thus avoiding the WCW-esque "previous champion never passes the torch" problems.
I was thinking Omega would be the perfect interim champion. He could get his win back on Tanahashi, feud with Cole, and Punk/Omega is a dream match of sorts. However as far as I know he's still very unavailable and almost definitely won't be back in 2022. It's too early for Miro, and when he gets a run he should be the unstoppable focal point of the company (there's too much else going on right now). Same exact thing goes for Wardlow. Which pretty much leaves Moxley. From what I understand he was originally planned to face Tanahashi at Forbidden Door before they decided to move Tana to fighting the AEW champion instead.
Moxley also really deserves a second title run with actual crowds this time, and I think this is a good way to slot that in without really disrupting overall plans.
