The whole battle royal thing was utterly pointless tonight. None of the top contenders for the title were in it, and you knew KOR had zero chance of beating Moxley. KOR vs Tana for a PPV would cause a revolt. I really think they are doing a terrible job of promoting this PPV.

Random New Japan guy shows up without fanfare in a tag team or just walks out is pretty shit too.

Not seen the episode yet so can't comment on Osprey, but Tanahashi should have been in full ring gear and destroyed someone in a match.

Ospreays fun to watch in ring because he's bizarrely athletic like Kenny was 5-10 years ago but his gimmick is unbelievably cringy zoomer shit lmao. FTR and him should actually be a fun match on paper at least

Him and Okada had a beautiful sequence of reversals at WK this year

Oh also why is AEW making yet another men's singles belt?

Each belt should be a different rule set. Cody defending the TNT Championship every week until he ran out of stamina and got squashed was PERFECT. They should have made it compulsary to defend it every other week to keep it distinct.

They should have had a hardcore belt early on for Moxley/Darby Allin/Jimmy Havok/Joey Janela, Kenny could have taken it for a bit in his shitty face year after his hardcore matches with Moxley. Have it always be defended in various flavours of hardcore marches.

Trios/Faction belt is long overdue too, could have had it around Jericho's faction the entire time to make those feuds a little more meaningful. They have so many tag teams that this could be the secondary belt for that divison.

If you want a 3rd single belt, make it for cruiserweights or something... this just seems so easy.

No... instead we have 3 AEW singles belts, 2 ROH singles belts and the stupid fucking FTW belt on TV. Not to mention AAA Megachampion and NJPW US Titles appearing in the past too. Is the Hart Belt going to appear?

Women get one match only. What the fuck are they doing?

TNT belt is the equivalent of the old WCW TV title. Gets defended a lot on TV. Should be every week, I agree with that. I think the WCW belt had a "defend every week" rule.

All-Atlantic belt is the equivalent of the WWF IC title except it's actually "intercontinental" for real, can be defended in other promotions in other countries. Wouldn't be surprised if the idea here is to have it be defended a lot in New Japan, or held by NJPW guys sometimes. The reverse mirror of the NJPW US title in that regard.

FTW belt is a Ricky Starks vanity belt, nothing more. It's been held by a grand total of two guys in AEW. Not too sure what the point of it is, but it's a vanity belt.

ROH belts are all only on AEW TV until ROH gets a new TV deal, then I'm pretty sure they're all heading over to that show.

TLDR every belt on their show has a purpose, and there's still room for Trios belts. The only title I don't like in AEW is probably the TBS title since it felt so...unnecessary. Plus Jade is completely upstaging Rosa, so right now it feels like the TBS title is the main women's title. Might as well just have Jade defeat Rosa and merge the belts at this point.

Sorry but a lot of this sounds like headcannon, they need to put this stuff over on TV via storylines and commentary.

Have they actually said that the Atlantic Belt is interpromotional? That would be a great idea, but they need to establish that only 1 AEW guy can be in any match. That way these Japanese guys coming in have something to challenge for, or you give it to someone outside of AEW and they get a run defending it on Dynamite. They could even have segments showing highlights of it being defended elsewhere.

Well shit when did Ace Austin join Bullet Club? I'm so out of touch with NJPW these days which is stupid because just about everything I see out of them I really enjoy. WWE who?

Ace joined 2 weeks or so ago to beef up the Impact Bullet club faction now that Jay is back in Japan full time and the good brothers are heading over too.

I like the Bullet club USA branch moving to impact now and rebuilding ever since the ROH chapter left and founded AEW

I saw Ospreay vs Takagi in the Best of the Super Juniors final back when Moxley first went over to New Japan.

He looked great and the match was great, he had a weeb dragonslayer gimmick which was fun because Shingo Takagi's gimmick was that he was a dragon.

Then we walks out onto AEW TV dressed like a chav (English white trash) and looking like shit. I don't know what happened but it isn't good.

Guys need to stop debuting on AEW TV in plain clothes. They did this with Bryan, Tanahashi, Osprey, and probably a bunch of others. Oh yeah, Miro was an early one. Maybe they're going for an "I was in the neighborhood and just dropped by" look, but it makes all of these guys look bland and sub-par immediately upon debuting. They should be at least somewhat "in costume" and be showcased on their debut.

Jeff Hardy also immediately looked worse upon switching companies and he WAS in-costume. So maybe AEW's lighting also sucks, I don't know.

Ace Austin is really good, only thing I liked on Impact when I watched it for a month or so during the Impact champion Kenny era. Everything on that show feels so insignificant though, even Kenny couldn't really elevate it. Maybe it's better now with crowds, but IIRC even when crowds are available, Impact is allergic to being in front of them for some reason.

Well I assume Jeff Hardy is done at this point

Felony DUI, congrats moran

Dude needs to retire before his broken mind infects that Darby kid and anyone else he's been influencing in the locker room.
I get that he's constantly in pain from wrestling 'all in' for all these years like Sabu but seriously, stay fucking home before ya become another "died too early" pro wrestler.

AEW wouldn't have this problem if they stuck with featuring young/unknown talent mentored by older legends.

They had zero reason to bring in the Hardys as active wrestlers and it's led to a lot of shit. Ironically pairing TH2 and Private Party with them was the best choice, but heel buisness gimmicks are shit and it buried them. It should have been a high flying face faction doing crazy stunts.

The tag division is the last place they needed more people, they already have almost all of the best tag teams.
