Nah, you trim the pubes short but leave them there, then shave the balls. Completely shaven is uncomfortable and too much work, and yeah looks kinda weird, but trimming makes it look bigger and tidier, and shaving balls is just plain considerate.

Unfortunately, when the hair grows back, it becomes very uncomfortable. I don't shave the balls, but I do trim it.

I tend to singe the hair off my scrotum with a cooking torch.

Try some talc on those balls.
