Didn't realize posting about something that's been debated multiples times over the course of years and then rehashed yet again multiple times then pouted about it was bad posting.
Fixed, and now you do. It's an old and worn out discussion, hence the two other posts that followed mine commenting on it.

By your own standards wouldn't we have to basically erase 99% of the MMO discussion? I was simply stating that DS9 didn't fit in the Star Trek Universe to me and the main reason why it didn't fit.

If I recall wasn't there almost a rule put into place to stop all EQ neck beading because people get sick of the shit?

Get over it dude and enough of the derail. Gesh.

What do you wanna discuss? How generic Into Darkness will be compared to another generic action movie? The most important discussion of any involving Star Trek is if it holds up as a realization of Star Trek as an idea, and this one quite assuredly will not.

It's like taking Shakespeare and writing a kindergarten edition and saying look, this one is just as good. It objectively isn't. But if this isn't what this 'thread should be about' - what should it be about?

Your arguments that it's just another generic action movie are voided though when you were saying "it's all just cookie cuter" crap. Trek used the same shit over and over. "Away mission captured, OH NOEZ!", same ship battle scenes over and over and over over the course of multiple episodes....blah blah blah. They used the same formulaic setting in literally dozens of episodes.

You're treating this franchise like it's some unique little snowflake and holy grail like. It wasn't. It was a good show, imo DS9 was one of the better shows to ever be on TV....but I would never sit here and pretend like it didn't recycle a lot of shit over and over and wasn't guilty of the same things you seem to think are unique to the reboot.

God damn that's a cute baby.

What you can't see is that he's having his temperature taken. That's why he's all "I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND!"

Dumar is really going to be pissed when they announce the inevitable new Trek tv series and it plays more like LOST than older Star Trek.

Between this, Iron Man 3, and Elysium, it certainly sounds like the summer of the leftist action movie.

It's not unheard of; 2006 with the year of the feel-bad action movie, between Smoking Aces, Blood Diamond, and Children of Men; it's just weird how projects percolate up at the same time.

Dude, don't even joke. I was telling my friends it's inevitable they'll reboot TNG at some in the future, with Shia Labeouf as Picard and Megan Fox as Troi. Maybe the series will be lucky and the world will end before that abomination sees the light of day.

WE HAVE TO BACK TO THE DELTA QUADRANT, KATE.

Oh wait, we already had that show.

Except the Voyager script is like fucking Shakespeare crossed with Greek tragedy compared to the scriptwriting of Lost.

I'd rather watch Lost up to season 4 or 5 than any episode of Voyager.

Ok, the one with Red Forman fucking with time was an interesting concept. But still horribly marred by usual Voyager script writing.

Voyager had a few good episodes, in fact "Blink of an Eye" ranks probably in my top 10 favorite Trek episodes.
