Kennedy is trying to make them the draw and will do the exact opposite of distance herself from the sequel trilogy because it is all part of her plan. She is in control, Iger has not taken any steps to remove her, and she is the one treating these two like they are the cult of personality that will draw people to this new trilogy. It does not matter one bit if she is wrong (she is) and they are dragging the brand down (they definitely are); what matters is that Disney sees a franchise that will put up big numbers and they have given Kennedy the keys to do whatever she wants. She is paying them tens of millions because, to her, the future is female and diverse.
