I mean, the franchise was retired at the end of Revenge of the Sith. There was the Star Wars cartoon, but that was very niche and not enough interest in a live action movie version. There still isn't. Their big bad, was a big blue dumb fuck named Thrawn

Making their new big bad dumb as fuck was another misstep. Lucas made sure the bad guys were credible with no wink-wink or Guardians of the Galaxy undertones.

They had a chance with Thrawn to bring people back to the franchise and fumbled it. Fat soy Filoni is inept.

There's a lot more similarities in the Prequels to Disney Star Wars than I'd care to admit.

While Disney ushered in the Guardians of the Galaxy era for Star Wars after TFA-- there was already inklings of that tone shift all over the prequels.

Rise of Skywalker cost 588 million dollars to produce. That's not including marketing. So over 700-750 million total? That means the movie needed to make 1.5 billion to break even

The idea of saving money on a movie which cost hundreds of millions of dollars sounds bizarre. However that is what Disney did on Star War: The Rise of Skywalker.

Analysis of recently-filed documents reveals that by March 2019, one month after filming wrapped, Disney said the movie was "in line with the budget". However, post-production cost less than expected and by the end of the year, less than two weeks after the movie debuted, Disney disclosed that it was "below the production budget". That's despite the movie having total costs of $588.2 million (£442.2 million). It isn't actually as bizarre as it sounds.

Reshoots were legendary on ROS. They scrapped 2 whole movies.

Iger thought if he changed the story enough that he personally could make the movie do TFA numbers.

JJ said ROS was the most amount of studio meddling he had ever dealt with. He had never filmed an entire screenplay only for it to be thrown away until ROS.

Cavill has until end of December 2024 to reach an agreement with Amazon on Warhammer. After that Amazon loses the rights.
