That's what people are complaining about though.

AAA games should either have the money for accurate mocap OR good art direction - they don't need both.

Cyberpunk 2077 used mocap for their two A List actors and good art direction for everyone else. There are no excuses, these are not small indie companies.

FF16 just hired good voice actors and had good art direction. I think Baldur's Gate 3 did that too.

All foreign companies though, so they were allowed to have fuckable women.

The story is that the objective is not to make female characters ugly, but to make their appearance more trans-friendly. The examples I've seen, including the main character in Outlaws, seem to support this claim. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Hell, you can look at the new Pokémon Go avatars and see the same thing. Pretty much took away busts and hips and they just look like boys now. Make all your actual female characters look like men, so it’s more normalized when dudes try to be chicks.

Wow, that's terrible. What's funny is the same chic who posted the vid that I learned about that article from (when I was checking out the Stellar Blade debacle) just popped up in my Youtube feed with a new video about the Pokemon Go update, and your post is the only reason I clicked it. Wish I didn't. :(

I just watched the Ubisoft stream and this game was showcased.

I have to admit that it looks interesting. It could still be shit, but I saw enough that I would have wanted to play it were it not for Mary Sue.

It's such a shame they decided to put a masculine girl boss in the lead role. I wish the studios would learn that instead of forcing players to assume their self-insert role, they could avoid a lot of angry players by giving us another option or allow players to create their own avatar.

This isn’t going to be a popular opinion but I thought that looked great. The game looks great and feels like Star Wars, the gameplay seems interesting.

I dont mind playing a female character. Played Lara Croft for a decade without complaints. She could look better but that honestly isn’t a big issue. It will come down to how she’s written and I’m not very confident about Ubisoft on that point.

My interest actually went up looking at that gameplay.

I’m still going to wait for reviews from reviewer I trust before buying.

This gameplay looks EXACTLY like Starlink : Battle for Atlas, another Ubisoft game that came out years ago with little plastic toys for kids to swap onto their controllers. They only upped the graphics and added third person perspective stuff in SW cities.

Should have just made it about Mando going from planet to planet to hunt bounties, like his early days before stumbling upon Grogu. Seems like that would print money.

game looks fine, just like another ubi generic ass pump. avatar frontiers of pandora, prince of persia lost crown, assassins creed mirage are all recent games that are all solid 6/10 games. this will be the same.

wait 6 months, its 75% off, $10-15 is the perfect price point. wait a little longer and it'll be free everywhere just like Assassins Creed Origins and Odyssey is free on gamepass and PS+. Both are very, very solid games (8/10s) worth playing for anyone who loves history.

there is absolutely no way this is worth buying at launch for MSRP, you are literally just burning money especially since Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor are better and free/cheap everywhere now too, and you'll have Indiana Jones. Also since this release Oct 2024 it guarantees you'll find deep, deep discounts on it on black friday (nov).

6/10 for Pandora is being way too fucking kind. That game was absolute garbage in everything but its visuals, and even those were ruined by having to play as creepy looking Na'vi. I got it for free with my GPU and still feel ripped off.

Outlaws is going to end up being the videogame equivalent of Acolyte. Written by people who hate actual Star Wars fans, designed by people who hate gamers.

All the "4 hour play" reviews are basically the same, even from reviewers no one knows about. It's pretty clear they are all being filtered. Why would some of the more well known reviewers risk their reputation over a shitty game no one will play? Weird decision.

It is laughable they limited them to 4 hours, which screams that the game is complete trash.
