Is it over? I haven't seen the latest episode yet.
Yes it is, and surprise surprise it's hot steaming trash. I actually liked a few things about the show but they managed to fuck it up at the end in true Disney fashion. Last episode just shits the bed so hard on any potential it has going in.

1/10 don't bother unless you're into getting kicked in the dick

this

its hot garbage it doesnt build to anything good. no resolutions to anything and nothing linking anything else.

The stupid fucking owl saves the day. She calls in a fucking air strike of x wing fighters. The Supervisor was nobody. Just a droid making the planet mint old Republic credits. The kids's parents get involved and they're about as weak as the kids. None of the pirates get killed on screen. Even Jod has no money shot where he dies or gets arrested, he may have escaped. The stupid kids are all fine and they learned no valuable lesson or saved the house with all the stolen credits. They're right back where they started. Bunch of privileged kids before and after.

The Goonies were poor middle class misfits. There are like 50 people on this at attin planet and they're all stinking rich. It's like the rich kid in the Goonies with that shitty fox body mustang was the hero of this TV show.

This show had potential but it just never went anywhere. Disney really needs to find some decent writers.

none of the kids around wanted to watch this show over xmas break - it was all sonic all day - so i ended up just binging it myself this past week. It was ok. Not terrible, not really good either. The plot is paper thin, it doesn't really feel like a satisfying ending, and it barely feels like Star Wars.

The positives are that there is a real bad guy in it, no usual bullshit Disney "a rogue with a heart of gold". Nope, the bad guy is just a plain asshole. He gives a 1 minute info dump of what made him and its probably the most interesting part of the entire 9 episodes. For the most part I liked the settings, visuals, music, production, etc. It also ends the story completely, there is no cliffhanger or teaser for season 2, the story is complete and done. No dumb ass cameos either.

Its horribly low rated by viewership which isn't surprising, Star Wars is just DOA for most people now after so many terrible TV shows and movies and i doubt this will turn anything around. Not really worth a watch unless you are bored for 6 hours, kids will probably enjoy it but Stranger Things is probably more interesting to them.

Apparently they shot a scene with the Jedi that Jod encountered but it got cut from the final series, lol

It's like the people getting hyped for the next movie announcement. 10-15 different Star Wars movies Disney allegedly greenlit and will authorize a budget for.

Jod did escape. And you're right no one grew as a character. But if you think they're right back where they started you're a dumb. The barrier is down. The New Republic knows about them. They are no longer isolated.

Didn't you at least enjoy how the only parents that didn't get involved were the lesbians? All we saw of them was "y'all stay safe and keep scissoring".

The story ended in a good place, sure, but there was also some teasing for season 2. Jod didn't die, setting up his redemtion arc in season 2. You don't really think at attin's great work is minting credits, do you? What kind of great work would that be? You don't need analysts to mint credits. They also hinted it was something more when the supervisor wanted to speak with the emissary about the great work. Whatever the great work is has something to do with what they're analyzing and it sounded like the supervisor had something important to report.

I don't remember the lesbians. But I mean, the barrier gets fixed and the slaver droids might get turned back on. This colony has been dependent on them for generations. Once the slaver droids are brought back online, they repair The Supervisor who just starts everything up again. I was disappointed we never saw the pirate captain who I am pretty fucking sure is Brendan Gleeson doing his mad eye moody impression.

To be honest, I was expecting the supervisor to be the captain.

Sure it will be fixed, and probably pretty easily. But that doesn't change the fact that they are no longer isolated. Not only does mrs owl know, but all of those pilots who came to the rescue had to report it to their supervisors.

Lobotette had two mommies. That you don't remember them shows how little they did. Literally, lobotette called them during the invasion and said 'moms, I'm taking care of it. Stay hidden' and they were the only parents who did jack shit to help. Makes me wonder if they had some shit that was cut due to the shift away from d.i.e.

Lobotette? The 4 kids are wim, fern, neel and KB. Yeah. The owl and new republics know, but when the barrier goes back up it's just not going to matter who knows. The kicker is that they don't know jack shit about the vast almost infinite amounts of credits being produced.and yes I also figured the pirate captain was The Supervisor. Maybe that was the plan originally because they built him up throughout the season. For him not to be on the planet at all or not even a tombstone or something makes no sense. Instead it's just some random bullshit droid who has no fucking use for gold treasure? They had to have cut something out. Maybe Gleeson bailed on a cameo at the last minute so they just shoehorned in this droid.

I don't know her name. Surely you noticed one of them had augments like lobot. Maybe jordi is closer since hers is a visor, but lets not mix scifi franchises.

Come to think of it, they did kind of imply that one of the skeletons in the ship was the captain.

You don't think a bunch of pirates can figure out a way to disable the security net? If nothing else, bombard it from the outside with ion cannons until you disable it. Their primary protection was that no one knew they were there.

Oh, ok. The Asian girl. That's KB. Yeah her mom has some stupid perm and was completely useless when she needed to get a rescue message sent. You know I did ponder that the Captain's corpse was on the ship, but I think the bodyguard droid, 33 might notice his precious Captain's skeleton laying in the corner like garbage. It also doesn't jive well with the idea that the Cap was awesome if he died in a crash or something. I think those skeletons were the crew and those guys were killed by the Captain because they might leave and tell everyone about the treasure planet. Dead men tell no tales. And no. Those pirates have no chance in hell of breeching that barrier when it's up. They would get vaporized.

The crew mutinied. Those corpses in the hallway died in a fight. I think jod pulled a sword from one of them and said it was the captain's sword.

The tech for that barrier is, what? a thousand years old?

That's a Gavin question. I don't know about the tech nerd stuff. That may have been a Captain's sword, but was it The Pirate Captains sword? It just irritates me that for no reason they introduce this character and shroud his identity like it's some intentional mystery that will be revealed later on for some Scooby-Doo ending. Fucking bullshit is what this really was.

i was only half paying attention to the show tbh, playing balatro at the same time, but i remember an episode saying the captain died

As SM-33 tells, Rennod was suspecting his crew would start a mutiny, and one of his officers even challenged him for the post of captain. It didn't end well for Rennod, who ended up killed by his lover: "The captain's concubine betrayed him, stabbing him with his own dagger."

SM-33's story lines up with something that happens a little earlier, in Episode 3, "Very Interesting, as an Astrogation Problem." Jod and the kids have just broken out of the brig at Port Borgo and made their way out. While the kids eat, Jod explores the Onyx Cinder and finds a skeleton stabbed through the chest hanging on a wall. That skeleton is probably Tak Rennod himself, in line with what SM-33 reveals about his captain's fate.

so yeah the captains crew mutinied, his concubine kills him, the crew takes the ship but crashes on Al Attin because probably while the ship was allowed to come through, the Supervisor immediately figured out they are pirates and shot them down. Why it didn't send robots out to recover the ship/bodies though is a classic Star Wars Mystery(tm) since you need the crashed ship to let the kids start.

It's a me question bro, and I'm telling you. Ion canons act like emp pulses and disable electronics. There's more than one motherfucker in the world who owns and read the Star wars technology books.

Can confirm. Have used Ion cannons to disable star destroyers shield generators in one of the starwars games. That was a long time ago, title is memory holed.

But why did they hide Tak Rennods appearance and was that actually a cameo by Brendan Gleeson or was it Nick Frost playing two characters?
