Not grandfather, step father. His mom is patty duke, one of the most prolific sluts in Hollywood. They didn't even know who his dad was. Most people thought it was Lucille Ball's kid so he would be I love Lucy's grandson. But it ended up being some other dude she was with. But Gomez adopted him.

So many of them are, and it even extends to directing or back end roles with films. I think Francis Ford Coppola's got two or three kids that are making movies. Cronenbergs kid is doing it, but he actually makes decent films.

Look at Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen. It's rampant in Hollywood, but I guess if I was a famous director or a movie star I would do everything I can to give my kid a leg up. Can't necessarily blame them, it's no different than starting a regular business and hiring your kid that shows interest or aptitude for whatever profession you do.

So they have coordinates to the other hidden planets. Why not just go to another one of them to get the coordinates to At-Attin? This show has a paper thin story and they're milking it for all its worth.

Ok, so this show has it's problems, but that was, hands down, the best use of a lightsaber in any star wars property to date.

This one is for all the people groaning at Luke pointing it at his face.

God you're stupid. Look at how hard it was to find them on that planet, and who's the say the captain didn't also destroy them there? But yeah sure, lets go traipsing around to all those other planets with unknown wars going on and hope they are intact instead of going to the place where you know the coordinates exist.

I guess this bullshit has to have something to talk about. Who thinks Jude Law is just pretending to be the bad guy? And is that Brendan Gleeson as the pirate captain?

My guess is a jedi who escaped order 66. Or perhaps a washout jedi. This would be somewhere close to 30 years after the purge. If jod is in his 40's now he could have been a youngling when order 66 was given. If he's 50+ he could have been a jedi washout. Jedi washout makes more sense with how dishonest he is. kanan jarus was also a jedi washout. That allowed him to escape the purge and he was an asshole with a heart of gold when we met him. There was another washout in the books who had escaped the purge and was really bitter about being a washout.

So, I don't think he's pretending, but he's probably going through a character arc. None of the kids seem to be going though much of one.

What? Kanan wasn't a washout, he was a padawan when Order 66 happened. Hunter and the rest of the gang didn't go after him because their chips were malfunctioning. Well except Crosshair but that's a whole nother plot line.

Edit: If you haven't watched Bad Batch then none of what I just said makes sense. What I'm talking about happens in I think episode 1 of the series.

I forgot about that. Coulda swore the book said he was a washout. Either way, there were other stories about washouts being missed.

I just watched the latest episode, and it's going to be hard to believe Jod as a good guy the whole time.

Another thing, what is so valuable about newly minted old republic credits? It would be like if someone was still printing Italian Lira today.

I am assuming that old republic credits are made of like gold or some other precious metal while new republic credits are not.

It's still gold and gold is valuable to these creatures. Also, according to accolyte, an evil character infects the light saber crystal. Jod's lightsaber is still blue, which I guess means he isn't evil, he's just bluffing to get the treasure. Now if the Supervisor/pirate captain kicks Jod's ass and they find out he's really the big bad all along forcing the planet into slavery to continue minting old Republic credits to amass his infinite wealth. We shall see. I have to admit this show isn't that bad. It's still got many flaws, the kids are cringe, they should have aged them up a little bit to where they don't act like little babies at times. The Asian girl has the most interesting back story. Better than her bestie, the junior girlboss. the two boys are very annoying. Perhaps if this show wasn't made by force is female cuntfaced bitch KK, The boys could be in their teens and act more masculine. As it is, it just looks like some kind of babysitter show. Jude Law is obviously the best actor of everyone, though the big hefty chick who was in Ragnerok could probably shine more if she was given more dialogue.

If it turns out that Jod was the baddie and all these loose ends are never addressed, I will have a completely different view of this show. The whole time everyone says not to trust him. That he's the worst and he now acts like the baddie they claimed he was. It's gonna be a huge disappointment that he was just so one dimensional and nothing special.

That would be one idea. But phantom menace was in the time of the old republic, right? Watto didn't want republic credits because they were worthless. Perhaps "old Republic credits" refers to a time they were made out of precious metals before the events of the phantom menace. Or maybe qui gon was trying to pay with republic bitcoins and didn't actually have physical credits. I can't remember the scene that well.

Old Republic Credits are probably just Space Doubloons.

They aren't used as currency anymore, but if someone offered to pay you with one, you'd probably be happy to take it

Everyone thought Jod would turn out to have a heart that gets melted by these rapscallions...

and he's just straight up a pirate with a lightsaber.

They picked the boring option. Also if there is no link to Ahsoka or Mando, it's also lame. where is the pirate captain ? Is he the Supervisor?
