So by the transitive property, the Holiday Special is now canon!

I laughed at that tbh

Kid loved it, its the fucking goonies ofc they have plot armor lol. Its not nearly as obnoxious as Kid Leia in Obi Won. They have an interesting home world where they still use Old Republic Credits which doesnt make sense without it being a mystery box I am sure they will explain at some point. Jude Law plays into his role very well and is my fav character as an adult. Also nice to see more of the piracy and "dirty" side of Star Wars they dont really get into very often.

Fun, irrelevant show that kids will really like. The episode run times are all over the place however, you may want to binge it when its done. It's probably what we will do at this point, IDK if they original idea was a movie or not, it doesn't feel overstretched after two episodes I think they just decided to tell a small piece of the story each episode no matter how long it took.

it was fun, the first 5 minutes felt like it was from a completely different show but yeah Goonies Star Wars pretty much sums it up. The main lead is an insanely plucky dumbass kid teetering right on the edge of being insufferable but the other 3 kids are great. The "hook" for the show of a treasure planet is interesting and done in a way I didn't really expect. The show is baby Farscape lol

so far definitely a show i would watch with kids and I think anyone under 14 would really enjoy it, when everyone starts coming around the house end of the month i think i know what we'll be watching.

for anyone watching with kids i have heard episode 3 has a lesbian mom intro so may wanna screen it to see ifs its done poorly like Acolyte.

Thanks for the warning. Sad to have to screen a Disney show to see if it is safe to show kids but that is the world we live in now.

First off, the holiday special has always been canon even though lucas wanted to disown it. They constantly talk about boba riding the mythasaur, the names of chewies wife and kid came from the holiday special (mala and lumpy). Was this sentence referring to the hologram thingy elephant boy was watching?

They have an interesting home world where they still use Old Republic Credits which doesnt make sense without it being a mystery box

It's not exactly a difficult mystery to crack. That barrier is clearly isolating the planet from the rest of the galaxy and has been since back in the old republic days. I figured that out when the kids had never seen stars before.

But the question / hope is "Is this really some sort of Shadow Empire base (that may or may not help explain The First Order)?"

Remember, at this point Ashoka S2 will release _after_ The Mandalorian and Grogu, so any wedged-in setup for that movie would have to show up in the final episode of this show.

I originally thought it was a First Order thing, but the Datari credits + the Jedi picturebook and references to the Great Work point to the planet being one of Lina Soh's big projects from the High Republic (they were all called 'Great Works')

I'm just wondering what the hell their work is? Why create and hide and entire colony to work on *something*? The aptitude test comments indicated they "always need more analysts".

The entire planet is an organic computer used to compute the answer to the ultimate question.

They revere the Jedi and use old Republic credits. An empire base would hate the Jedi and use imperial credits.

I guess there is mystery there after all given that it looks like it was done on purpose and for some reason pirates have legends about them. Not a mystery of what, but of why.

It's ok. I was disappointed in elephant boy. He doesn't seem to have a mouth or any way to convey that he's speaking. You just have to assume that's him. The little girl with the bomber jacket and the Asian girl seem more interesting than elephant boy and Jaden Smith. I guess they needed those kids to be morons to build up the girls. Also why did the one dude stay in the jail cell when he could have summoned the key to escape at any time?

If you had not told me that was supposed to be there it would have gone completely unnoticed. Its not obvious at all they are even supposed to be a couple to the point where I thought it was just the usual suspects needing something to complain about for 5 min on their youtube channel.

Anyways its clear I am not the intended audience but they threw me a bone getting to watch Jude Law be the most charismatic character they have created in 40 years. Also they are letting hte kid actors be kids which is nice, they are not smarter then kids should be and are annoying as kids can be.

Also shit like this is just wonderful, this is all David Lowery and its clear they gave directors more room to make it feel like their own in this show compared to the other Star Wars shows

Kid still loves it so the show will go on.

Hard to watch. Kids are way too annoying. Nothing worse than a girl boss, except for a 12 year old girl boss.

They didn't have to inject woke and girl bosses in a kid's show, they just wanted to. That's why they failed. Btw if everything was fair and there was no fagmoms or girlxperts. It would still have been just ok.

They straight up ask him exactly that, and he responds with the obvious - it's an asteroid floating in space, without a ship where is he going to go ?

This show is very boring and there is nothing Star Wars about it other than them saying names of notable places. Its just generic sci-fi. Dont know how they thought this would appeal to kids in any way.

It's Goonies but without any white males.

I watched that recently and forgot all about Josh Brolin. Never realized he was a nepo kid too.
