I didn't think that highly of the last Avengers. Dunno how this one will be. There was very little time spent not dancing around smashing CGI things last time. WTB a little more character development. Make me give a shit. Star Wars movies make me give a shit. Loki was the best part about the last one. I care about what happens to Loki. Second to that would be Norton returning to The Hulk, which will never happen.

The casting for Anakin was terrible, but aside from him the tragedies and triumphs were significant. I don't like what Abrams did with the tech in the latest Trek films, which makes the whole concept of Starfleet redundant, but he seems like he'll be suited to the space fantasy that is Star Wars, and he can make me give a shit about the people he kills off. So I'm anticipating Star Wars much more than Avengers 2 if it's going to be another superhero music video.

Everyone knows what we we are going to get with the next Avengers film. There will be no surprises there . Star Wars on the other has a new director and a fresh team and outlook behind it. Everyone's extremely curious to see what JJ and consequently Disney can do with the SW universe. It is really only for this reason that it is the most anticipated in my opinion.
^^^ This.

I expect another solid Avengers movie when it comes out. New stewardship and creative control finally coming to a franchise that has desperately needed it for the better part of two decades and the unknown that it brings, that presses the "Show Me" button.

Marvel movies suffer way too much from resolving everything and killing off their shitty villain of the week at the end of every movie. There's no larger struggle. Thanos is not particularly compelling yet, and is almost too goofy in his on-screen portrayal to feel like an existential threat.

Star Wars, on the other hand, has the Empire. The fact that the Empire is still going to be a dominant force, if not still THE dominant force, in the galaxy for some time to come makes me feel like the Star Wars movies have way more interesting stories they can develop.

Yeah, it's not like there's an evil global/galactic adversary in the Marvel universe using cosmic superweapons and technological remnants for some nefarious plot.

Dude sits in a chair and berates emofolk. That's about it. Darth Vader was walking around fucking shit up all the time, and Palpatine was just the icing on top. Thanos is barely connected to the events in the movies. I mean, he's majorly connected, but how much he pulls the strings isn't obvious yet. He's Palpatine without Vader, and his emodude's attempt to blow up Alderaan failed, and wasn't part of his plan anyway.

Not obvious unless you already know about it. As someone who doesn't really read the comics, that stuff barely even registers with me.

There is a fine balance between focusing on a mass scale galaxy changing conflict and the small stuff that makes the characters easier to relate to, the original Star Wars movies did it well. I thought the second Captain America movie was by far the best one out of the marvel movies, probably because it successfully embedded personal fights within the larger conflict between hydra and SHIELD. Meanwhile I can barely even remember what the avengers movies was about.

Loki hired some alienfolk via a Thanos emodude to fuck shit up on Earth because...reasons? Loki wanted some shit. Loki fought Hulk. Loki was AWESOME. Loki did not succeed. Thanos what? Chitauri who? #loki #tigerblood

Loki was Jabba, Iron Man shot first, the Marvel rancors were better, Black widow in leather vs Leia in metal bikini, Hawkeye vs Chewie.

Right and people said the same thing about a movie with a talking raccoon and look how that turned out.
I expected to want to bang the raccoon man. left completely satisfied.

You're all biased fanboys for either side. You, and you, and you, and you, and you. Crack may indeed be involved for some, mere delusions for others.

Avatar 2 will still make more money and be worse than both.
I hope it doesn't. I hope it bombs really bad so Cameron can ditch th pocahontas in space shit and start doing something great (or salvage anything from terminator saga)

I'm 46, and I'm looking forward to both, but Star Wars is special to me. And the prequel while bad, did not diminish what Star Wars represent to me.

The thing is my dad and his girlfriend are looking forward to Star Wars, we're talking 65+ people here and they have zero interest in Avengers or any of the Marvel movies to be honest.

And ultimately that's the thing, for the usual movie going crowd, I'm fairly sure Avengers might be more anticipated, but Star Wars will pull a lot of people that usually don't go to the movies. It's appeal is much wider than the regular movie goer.

At the end of the day, I don't give a shit which is better or more anticipated...I'm getting what I hope will be 2 fucking awesome movie...so I'll win.

For every person 65+ that cares the other side will point to a 20- that doesn't. Neither of course paid for Strange Magic.

My point isn't that 65+ care, it's that Star Wars is reaching to people who do not normally go to the movies.

And all the youth that torrent most of their movies but go to see Marvel's in theaters don't count?

Hell, Captain America 2 was better than Avengers anyways.

And never, ever discount the Star Wars freaks that will go see the movie 40 times in the theater. They are out there, and there's a decent amount of them.

Can't take a dark speech seriously if you have a mini ponytale. Also his eyes are perfectly white, shouldn't they be bloodshot or something (not his fault I guess)?
