The prequels also sucked, not sure if you want to draw on them as an example. I, personally, love movies where the bad guys win or the bad guys stay bad. However, that is a very difficult movie to pull off when the "bad guy" is a sibling spawned from a hero. Everyone will go in with the expectation he can be saved once you learn his origin. That's a delicate thing to pull off if there is no chance at redemption (You have to make him crazy evil, which much like Anakin, at a certain point it might become just comical or stupid, and not feel genuine.)

Adam Driver is big for an actor. He's like 6'3" and yeah has a huge schnoz and ears.

Actually I bet Kylo Ren is Luke's kid.

That would fit the whole cosmic Daddy-Issues thing that runs through the whole star wars franchise.

His aunt and uncle raised him but kept him away from the force so he goes out and looks for his biodad while collecting sith relics and building his own lightsaber by himself (that's why it's ragged and unfocused because he's not trained---he's just a jedi otaku).

According to Lucas, the story he gave them to use revolved around Anakin's grandchildren. So the series would go Anakin -> Anakin's children -> Anakin's grandchildren. Now how much of that storyline did they use? Apparently Lucas doesn't even know.

If the Red Letter Media guys' speculation is true, and they made a very compelling case, there's going to be a ton more of that "poetry" in this movie, like beat for beat matchups with shit from EP4 at times. Hopefully just much better executed than the prequels at least, but its a little worrisome that the whole thing will be more derivative than new and fresh.
