Wait obi wan didn't kill maul?
no one has ever died from falling into a giant pit in Starwars.

Maul did not die.
Luke did not die. Twice even. once at Cloud City when losing a hand, and a second time at Jaba's Palace.
Boba Fett did not die.
Palpatine did not die.

I mean really. want to know why there are not railings anywhere? Cause apparently falling into giant pits is actually healthy for you. It somehow makes you survive mortal wounds.

Hmm, aren't Boba Fett and Palpatine both technically dead now since them surviving their respective falls into giant pits occurred in books that are no longer canon?

And all of the Clone Wars spin-off stuff is canon so far, but I don't know if that applies to the upcoming book about Ventress and Vos.

Bobba fett and the emperor being alive is really fuckin dumb, canon or no canon

Well the Emperor had clones ready to go or some shit, I don't really know. It's dumb no matter what.

Boba Fett, well that was the EU salvaging a really dumb death out of the movie. I mean they built him up as sort of this quiet badass in the movies, who was one of the few guys who had the nerve to backtalk Vader, captures one of the main characters of the movies, doesn't get instakilled by Luke like all the rest of the minions, but then gets taken out on accident by someone (Han wasn't it?) whirling around blind and accidentally kicking on his jetpack. Shit was dumb as hell so I don't mind him secretly escaping the sarlacc pit as soon as the camera shifts away.

yeah, Boba fett alive is generally ok.
The emperor I only included as for the joke. Force ghost possessing clones... yeah, that is the kind of shit, people shit on the EU for.

Or if it's referenced in the clone wars show or rogue. Those are both canon
No. They want to change that for a movie? They can and will.

Best you have is that Rogues is designed as a lead in to the movies so will likely be planned out to not conflict and tie in well. Clone Wars wasn't planned like that and could be changed at any time.

Pretty sure Boba is alive. You know why? Because a Boba standalone would make infinity nerddollars (or like, a lot of normal human dollars).

Make IG88 the bad guy and Dengar neutral. Maybe have them competing for a bounty that double crosses them and then they team up. You know, like every bounty hunter book written ever.

You're very wrong.

Lucasfilm and Disney revised the franchise's canon. They announced that the existing six filmsand The Clone Wars television series are the "immovable objects" of Star Wars storytelling. Previously published material has been relabeled under a "Legends" label, and future content will present a different vision of people, places and events after Return of the Jedi. They also announced that all future Star Wars stories will be connected, with guidance coming from the Star Wars story group. Additionally, it was announced that the films of the sequel trilogy will not follow the same story as that of the Expanded Universe works taking place after the events of Return of the Jedi.
Now Disney could go back on their word, but as it stands now they made a very unequivocal statement regarding the status of Clone Wars, and the same applies to Rebels. It looks like A New Dawn is canon, which means Son of Dathomir and the upcoming Dark Disciple will be canon as well.

It's not like anything that happens in Clone Wars or Rebels is likely to have any effect on Force Awakens, which means they'll have no need to retcon anything. Although I'd love it if they retconned out those wretched 'living manifestation of the force' episodes from whatever season of Clone Wars. Force Awakens will happen 40 years after the first season of Rebels, which means 60+ years after the events of Clone Wars.

In regards to EU / Legends stuff related to Star Wars Rebels:

(Spoilers All) A compilation of everything we know about Star Wars Rebels Season 2. - Big Time Spoilers. : StarWars
Twice now, in two different interviews, Freddie Prinze Jr. teased at a Legends character being introduced as one of Vader's lieutenants or operatives.
There's already been a Legends character name thrown around for Sarah Michelle Gellar's character, one that would tie in to future movies (not necessarily Episode 7). Rebels + the new book trilogy are likely to have important events, but Disney has already strictly planned out what they are and there won't be any non-canon surprises in those sources.

Clone wars seems to have issues with continuity in regards to the movies already made...

The only continuity issues are trivial things like Anakin having his scar at the wrong time, except the battle where he got his scar is no longer canon.

That is the problem. Now that he is a popular character (even though he was not really important for the overall story), some bullshit explanation will resurrect him.

Episodes 1-3 shouldn't be canon either imo.
That would be the best thing ever. Make it happen Disney.!

And yes gavin, it was Han who killed him by accident.

They can still turn around and change it because honestly only a few autistic people on the internet would be upset (sorry for being offensive there).
