you're missing the point. everybody understands that Rey was likely a pupil under Luke before Kylo went emo or whatever, and was probably gifted in the force before being mindwiped. that isn't lost on anybody here. the issue is that, within the confines of the established Star Wars universe, that isn't nearly sufficient enough of an explanation (nor does such an explanation exist) that makes it reasonable for someone in Rey's position to overcome someone like Kylo, no matter how many if's and but's you try to interject into her backstory.
It's unreasonable for a padawan that is clearly experienced in melee to over come another padawan that is severely injured. Well okay . Tell us more tax jockey.

The point is, the force isn't always like learning a magic trick where you need to practice it a ton (Though it helps). Sometimes it can just take over and control you if you "let it in". I think since Rey is super force sensitive (Cause shes luke daughter) she managed to let it take over for a brief period.
I understand your point and I agree with you.

As to my bigger point to all of this: Whether people love or hate this movie it doesn't effect my opinion of it. I feel that its an overall great movie with a few flaws (most of which have been pointed out). I think what irritates me is the obvious inconsistency in which people view this movie in light of the Original Trilogy. Many of the problems that people have rightly pointed out about this movie can also be found in the OT. Their sentimental and nostalgic blinders refuse to let them see those same problems with the OT.

Everything makes sense, Kylo just got ass raped by Chewies bowcaster, he is emotionally unstable, Rey has secret past training and is just straight up better than him at everything. It just doesn't make for a very compelling or exciting final showdown. I don't want to see a big fight between people that aren't at 100% I want to watch them at their best. The characters didn't have enough depth to them to make it interesting on a dramatic level so it better be awesome on an action level and it wasn't. The only moments I even remember from the fight is when she force grabbed the lightsaber, which was cool but not earned, and the 30 second pause where she shut her eyes and remembered that the force was a thing, which was stupid.

So lets give everyone in the audience the ultimate lightsaber showdown at the end of the first movie in a 3 part trilogy. Fuck having any kind of fight that isn't perfectly fair or doesn't have everyone at their peek. You must have been deeply disappointed in the lightsaber battle in ESB. Did you advise Lucas on writing Phantom Menace?

ESB's final act had a lot more going for it then just a lightsaber fight and I don't care about a movie that is going to come out in 2 years. Saving shit for sequels is how you make shitty movies.

if he's walking around on his own using all limbs without issue then he's not hurt bad enough for it effect the outcome of a fight with these two scrubs. I might buy it if the shot from Chewie took out one of Lena Dunham lovers arms and he went into the fight an arm short against Jedi Mulan.

So if Kylo nearly kills and almost turns Rey before chopping her hand off in Ep 8..."the audience" will see him as her bitch? K.
btw, this won't happen. Disney has shown their hand and would never risk all their merchandising money by putting Cindereya in such an unflattering light. episode 8 will end with Ren getting his ass kicked again and turning back to the light side. episode 9 will end with Ren sacrificing himself for the life of Ren in some shape or form to take out the new Sith Daddy. they wouldn't have cast a baby faced heffer hunter as Kylo if they weren't intending to have all the 8 year old girls to grow up having rape fantasies about their scene in 7, which means the bad boy has to turn back to good. plus we know a plank bitch like Rey couldn't handle Finn's BBC.

I once played a high school hockey game with a broken wrist ending with two assists and my midichlorian count is only like 4/5 of Ren's. I'm sure he could manage.

A broken wrist yet you still played a full hockey game? No idea where you grew up but unless it was the lowest level of competitive hockey then that's a fucking joke. Just tired of your shit overall in this thread, go break your wrist again jacking off to the thought of everybody hating on your comments homo.

And this is a recipe for the same pile of shit that Lucas dropped on us with Phantom Menace. Lets have this amazing technical fight with no soul or purpose among the the best most well trained characters at the end of the first movie in a three part trilogy. Lets completely blow our load in the first damn movie. This leaves absolutely nothing to look forward to with the remainder of the trilogy. Thank God morons like you aren't making this movie series.

Is there any more obvious evidence of being butthurt about a movie than hating it, yet coming back to post about how much you didn't like it for days on end?

I guess hoping for a great action scene before episode 9 was too much, doesn't bode well for ep8 either. Hope they don't plan to make another trilogy after or they'll save all that shit for episode 12.

When did wanting great action scenes in an action adventure movie become so crazy? Why can't there be great action scenes in all the movies? When did they're saving the good shit for sequels become a reasonable excuse for flaws in a movie? I don't' want more overly choreographed dance sequences like the Phantom Menace. There's been dozens of fantastic action films in the last few years with great memorable scenes, I just want some of that in the Star Wars universe.

Couldn't they just take 1 or 2 of the actors from one of the best action film franchise in the last decade and have them have cameos in Star Wars as like space bandits or something? Maybe they could have taken part in the raid of Hans ship? Think of how crazy that could be if they were apart of an action scene.
