If Lucas Film didn't go with the Plagueis lore then its a colossal fuckup.

I could see JJ going with clones, and the Lucas cut trying to get rid of the clone storyline because of how it undercuts the OT.

The new life force ability angle is actually interesting and something I'd expect in a Marvel movie.

1 cut of the movie has the appearance of the younger Palpatine clone removed from the movie-- that gives me a glimmer of hope for a two steps up improvement.

I'm also hearing Hayden Christensen's appearance may have been axed from the final cut.

Game of Thrones without a doubt.

Star Wars already had a compete story arc where you can ignore the prequels/sequels and Disney can sell those forever.

The entire run of Game of Thrones is now tainted.

On one hand the media is starting to turn on lucasfilm and disney now that the streaming wars have started, on the other hand those free disney trips and access to disney actors still carries weight. I think it gets a solid 92% score

Game of Thrones ended on a disappointing note but at least it wasnt a whole dumpster fire through and through.

This franchise has 2 good movies and 1 decent one out of 10, with the final one slated to be a dumpster fire to rival WaterWorld

I'd go the other way. Yeah, the last 2 seasons of GOT were bad. And the final season was atrociously bad. But it was a slower slide and you could kind of lube up for what you knew was coming.

Star wars did it in 2 hours. Force Awakens wasn't -that- bad. It wasn't great, it was just mediocre mostly. But Last Jedi managed to destroy 40 years of fandom (actually destroy it, not just nerdrage because the gold bikini wasn't a g-string) in 90 minutes. They probably couldn't have made a worse movie if they'd tried. Unless they did a found footage 3 hour anthology of 20 minute shorts... ok, maybe they could have made a worse movie if they'd TRIED. But not much worse. There might be 20 minutes in that movie that was never made that you liked! I dare you to find 20 good minutes in TLJ.

I think that watching it live that's true.

In 10-20 years nobody will care about Game of Thrones but Star Wars will still have the original trilogy.

DAMN, now that's a challenge. Quantitatively I am sure some movie nerd will give you an answer, but answering this qualitatively is like deciding which would be a worse extinction event, a massive meteor strike on earth or all out nuclear war. In the end, it is all just apocalypse.
