even if he didnt get blown up into blue flames, even if the entire death star exploded, if he was fine after that and chilled out for 30 years in the vacuum of space. people still gonna notice 100 FULLY CREWED(46k personnel per) Star Destroyers with death star tech skulking around the galaxy.

Disney should pay Lucas another 4 billion to write them something worth a damn.

Complain all you want about the prequels, but they didn't ruin the original trilogy. These last 3 are a soulless abomination. Took everything that was good about the original trilogy and just absofuckinglutely destroyed it. Luke's character. Han and Leia's love. Palpatine's death. Vader's sacrifice for redemption. Any general cohesion of story. I still mostly blame Rian Johnson, but now with this seeming piece of shit from Abrams it looks like Disney's failure is complete.

Seriously, don't know how you pay that money for the franchise, then come up with a cockamamie plan to let random directors write a new 3-part story as they go.

They didn't trust rian with 3 and no one serious wants to touch star wars because it's lose lose. Opie begrudgingly rescued one as a personal favor and that's the high water mark.

I got some old Star Wars branded T shirts I bought, a few years ago. Probably around the time of TFA.

I went to get one out the other day, but then put it back realising that I was going to be in a public area.

The fact that I didn't want to be seen wearing that speaks volumes.

From the trailer, I don't really see an obvious rehash. I mean obviously there's a few callbacks and we're seeing old characters every few seconds just because "LOOK, IT'S THE STAR WARS YOU LOVE" but other than that, the story seems like something new.. doesn't mean it's going to be good, but it doesn't feel like a rehash of ROTJ.

And I agree Disney has probably been backpedaling a lot due to the mess TLJ made, it's pretty obvious from the direction the story is going.

I'm quite surprised we saw no Sith Troopers or Knights of Ren at all in that trailer, I'm hoping they're not just in a 30 seconds scene in the film because they look pretty cool.

As for old lady CGI, they've repeatedly said they're not doing CGI Leia at all, they're re-using unused footage of Leia from TFA and changing the background with CGI to fit the scene. I expect only a little Leia in the movie.

I mean... eh. I admit I'll probably go see it, but I'm not proud of that. The only interesting thing here is Rey / Kylo and if they work together. (by the way, I completely forgot Kylo Ren's name, I had to google it. That's sad).

They made it clear the force is just a never ending jerk off of light dark. They pick avatars and they fight, then they do it again. And now they made it clear whoever they pick are just twinks that are insta-leveled up. Noobs with a powerful weapon and can do everything because the force. So how is that interesting. If they make Rey Kylo break that mold at least that's something, but these movies are so awful.
