Well, the money is just a giant perk of the position he's in though. I mean, he's made about $250,000 of just tournament winnings and I'd be willing to bet probably the same amount between team salaries + stream revenue + merchandize. He gets to set his own hours, gets to play from home, gets to travel the world and gets to be his own person. When you're the most popular foreigner it seems rather stupid to just give all that up. To each his own I suppose. What if he has enough for school now and doesn't really want to do it anymore because he knows he has no real future there? Is everything for you about money?
France and Europe in general uses a bit different university model, you don't pay any tuition fees or they are much smaller, don't pay taxes and get a free healthcare until you are ~26 if you maintain your status as a student. Because he wants to study medicine (IIRC) the studies take 6 years straight (no med and pre-med) so this is probably the last year he could start and finish in time. Yeah, if he wants to make some money all he needs is to fire up SC2 again for an afternoon, but I'd rather see a pro who can quit properly and for good. I don't want to see another guy struggling to be relevant again for the next 4 years.I still think it's pretty retarded for him to retire. I know he wants to start his "real life" but honestly you can go to school at whatever age you want. He's 20 years old so it's not even like he's super old already. He has a huge opportunity that very few people in the world can get and he should milk that for everything it's worth. He still gets some of the highest viewer counts out of every streamer as well, which means he probably makes a pretty big amount of cash everytime he streams.
Let's not even mention how much salary and free items he probably gets from just being on EG. I know a lot of people love the guy, but fuck him, he's retarded.
