I think they're trying to make mech TvP more of a "stall with tanks, rebuild with air" style thing. Honestly air TvP isn't that bad since Ravens shit on Tempest so badly and Vikings outrange VRs and Stalkers end up doing fairly minor damage to BCs. The issue is getting this late game army is nearly impossible TvP.Are we been trolled? How does that mech change helps against immortal pushes, or immortal based late game armies? Fuck give back tank damage against everything.
If you thought the game was hard back in WoL beta then prepare your anus because a top Diamond from WoL beta would be like Silver at the momentHi there...
So I've been craving a rts and so I've turned my eye towards sc2. I've only ever played it in beta a long time ago, and my original thoughts were that everyone seemed to be trying so hard. People weren't there to try and have fun, but were there to rank up and be damned if you made a mistake! Left a bad taste in my mouth.
I want to give it another shot but I don't even know where to start. Mind you at this time I don't even have a copy of the game, but when I get in game where do I start?
I noticed someone mentioned unranked games so that sounds probably the best? Or even maybe run the campaigns so I have a basic idea of units?
I used to play a lot of war craft 3 and getting build orders down was a lot of fun. All about speed and efficiency. I hope to recreate some of that fun in sc2. Thanks for the help.
Well, unless you can cripple the protoss economy you eventually run into the problem that protoss can techswitch on the spot to gateway army, or at least shit out 10 HTs to cripple all your casters.I think they're trying to make mech TvP more of a "stall with tanks, rebuild with air" style thing. I didn't say it was hard, but said it was a bunch of try hard personalities that took the game way too seriously. Run into it a lot in dota2 and most of the time just make the game not that fun.If you thought the game was hard back in WoL beta then prepare your anus because a top Diamond from WoL beta would be like Silver at the moment
How I generally see this work is you lay some PDD near a skirmish area with your Ravens to protect the BC from Tempest fire. You then move in your BCs and instantly find something to Yomato (most likely a void ray) and cast that. Accept the fact you will get feedback cast on your BC and lose 200'ish HP immediately but hopefully you can kill almost all the VR with Yomato. Queue your Vikings to attack VR, then Tempest while you them move in your Hellbats. Depending on some factors you can also consider HSM on a VR pile if the Toss heavily commited VR. In general you'll probably want to spend the remaining energy on PDD to stop Tempest and Stalker fire on your BC. Or at least in the very few games I've seen where this unit composition comes into play that seems to be the general idea.Well, unless you can cripple the protoss economy you eventually run into the problem that protoss can techswitch on the spot to gateway army, or at least shit out 10 HTs to cripple all your casters.
